Not So Good Memories

I sharpened my pencils and arranged my notebooks, ready to tackle, for the first time in over 20 years, what I considered the biggest literary bore in the history of mankind. I’m not exaggerating when I say I got goose bumps just thinking about that book resting threateningly on my desk… it reminded me of the long afternoons back in high school when they made us read famous excerpts over and over while they repeated to us ad nauseam that tiresome, incomprehensible work was a great source of pride for Italy.

In my senior year I decided to impress my French teacher and read Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast. I liked it a bit better but to be honest I have never picked up another Hemingway novel. I probably shouldn’t admit that but there you have it. Funny how sometimes those first impressions really do carry forward.

Not Done Yet

Well, I didn’t finish any books and I also haven’t posted my trip photos. What did I do this weekend? A lot of this and that but I did work on some crafts.

I started making one of the projects found in Alisa Golden’s Unique Handmade Books. I’ve had this book for a couple of years and haven’t tried any of the projects. I can’t believe that. From what I can tell the instructions are well written and there are plenty of photos and diagrams so it shouldn’t be too difficult to follow.

I also got caught up on my Bust & Bitch reading this weekend. Which reminds me that I really should subscribe to these magazines already. Anyway, now I have a list of books, music and web sites to check out.
