Happenings

Is everyone enjoying the weekend already? I know I am. I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the month and what I can’t believe most is that I’m still reading the same book I started the month with. What is happening to my Bookgirl credentials? Ha.

Still reading Gone Girl, which is really a great book, but for some reason it’s just taking me a long time to get through. So I can already tell April will not be a very good month for reading. That’s ok, there is always the next month.

I wish I was participating in Dewey’s Read-A-Thon. That would certainly help with my reading, but I’m looking at a weekend of lots of bookbinding. To those of you who are participating, have tons of fun! I’m cheering for you.

Now I’m off to my studio to hang out with lots of paper and glue. I need to get ready for a craft show in a couple of weeks and a big show this summer (so excited about that one). And, I’m still in a bit of a celebratory mood as my Etsy shop turns 5 years this month! Go visit my shop if you are need of a journal – I’ve got a little sale going on.

Happy weekend and happy reading!

National Poetry Month

Hey friends – another few weeks gone by and here I am about to miss out on National Poetry Month. We’ve been busy with family in town, home projects (painting, gardening, etc.), getting over colds – you name it.

Actually I have been keeping up with some daily poetry reading thanks to the The Borzoi Reader Poem-A-Day. Love that! I think one of my favorite poems so far has been Christina Rosetti’s, In an Artist’s Studio.  Another thing I’m enjoying is the Poetry Foundation’s app. I try to read a poem during my lunch break at work.

What about you, what wonderful poems have you been reading?

My goal this month is to find a poetry reading around town. I remember when Christine and I used to go to poetry slams in Dallas. So much fun. I’ve missed that.

So the weekend is here and my plans include a lot of bookbinding. I’ve got a couple of craft shows that I may be participating in coming up and I need to get some journals ready. Also, my Etsy shop is celebrating 5 years. I can’t believe that! Thank you all for supporting my adventures in bookbinding. I have a sale coming up next week so if you need some new journals stay tuned for that.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend filled with lots of poetry reading!

Good Mail Days

In the past couple of weeks since I’ve updated my mailbox has been overflowing with lots of good stuff.

First came a postcard from Stefanie. Great message don’t you think? This postcard was also followed by a wonderful poster from Isabel. I am ready for National Poetry month – this poster is definitely going up on one of my studio walls.

I’ve ordered a couple of books: Gone Girl and Mr. Churchill’s Secretary. One is for an upcoming book group read.

Then, thank you to some generous publisher’s I’ve received the following ARCs:

Whew… that’s a lot of great stuff in the mail isn’t it?

What else can I tell you… just been busy with work, recouping from a cold and trying to carve out time for crafting, reading and other adventures. I hope you are all well!
