Drumroll please…. The winners of my Laura Lippman giveaway are: Heather & Rhonda who each won a copy of The Girl in the Green Raincoat and Amanda W. who won I’d Know You Anywhere. Thank you all for participating and thank you to AuthorsOnTheWeb for providing the books for the giveaway. I’m so looking forward to reading Laura’s books too.
So how was everyone’s weekend? Mine was quite good although not long enough of course. I did go to the Renegade Craft Fair and found a great bookish goodie I had to have.
I got this very cool cuff from Magic Industrie made from the spine of a vintage book. It’s hard to tell in the picture but the cuff is made from a copy of Ogden Nash’s Versus. Isn’t it great and it fit perfectly so it was meant to be.
After the craft fair I stopped off at Fair Bean for an iced coffee with toffee and nutella! Oh my, talk about yumminess. It’s been a good weekend and now I’ll leave you with a bit of poetry from Ogden Nash.
How pleasant to sit on the beach,
On the beach, on the sand, in the sun,
With ocean galore within reach,
And nothing at all to be done!
No letters to answer,
No bills to be burned,
No work to be shirked,
No cash to be earned,
It is pleasant to sit on the beach
With nothing at all to be done!
Excerpt from Pretty Halcyon Days.
Congrats to the winners!
Glad you had a wonderful day at the craft fair! And that cuff looks lovely!! 🙂
Melody – I knew it was the one when I put it on and it was a perfect fit 🙂 Have a great week ahead!
Love the cuff! I’m glad you had fun this weekend 🙂
Congratulations to the winners! What a great cuff!
Glad you had a wonderful weekend, Iliana! They are always too short, though, huh? 😉
I haven’t been to the Renegade Craft Fair but looks like a great event! I went to a street craft fair once in Austin but can’t remember the name or the location (maybe on Guadeloupe but not sure?).
What a fun find from the craft fair! And I love the Nash poem you posted. I could go for a warm sandy beach right now!
How fun. The bracelet is really cool.
and I am copying that poem down – it’s perfect for summer. I’ll have to tweak it a bit for ‘How pleasant to sit on the boat’. (I’ve got boat fever bad)
The cuff is really awesome! Congratulations to the winners. I just recently read a Lippman book (I’d Know you Anywhere) and really enjoyed it!
Glad to hear you had a nice weekend, I like the cuff!
Very cool cuff! Poor book, though. It’s like fur – love it but hate the sacrifice involved. LOL I adore Ogden Nash!
I love craft fairs…especially for silver jewelry. sounds like a nice time.
Thanks so much for the book!!
I love the beach, so naturally I love this poem! And your cuff! Very cool.
