“I shifted in my seat, trying to catch a glimpse of the title of his book. I’m always fascinated by other people’s reading habits. I’m shrewd at guessing what their tastes might be…”
Cassandra James from Stage Fright by Christine Poulson
Tell me that passage doesn’t apply to every bookworm. I know I always want to see what people are reading. I am curious if I’ll see someone with similar tastes or perhaps the person is reading a book that looks interesting and I may want to get for myself.
By the way, the Stage Fright book is the second book in the Cassandra James series. An academic mystery series set in England. I discovered this one via Margaret. The series is a pleasant read and I’ll look forward to the next book.
A series I’m done with is the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I found myself skimming large portions of Eleven on Top, the latest book. After eleven books we still have a heroine who eats too many doughnuts, gets her car blown up and can’t figure out which man she wants. Thank goodness for the spunky grandma Mazur and feisty Lula although even their characters have gotten a bit stale.
