Because I may not get a chance to review all the books I read while on vacation (some details are already fuzzy) I thought at least I should list out the books. So here are the stories that held my attention:
- The Chemistry of Death by Simon Beckett
- The Salinger Contract by Adam Langer
- Excellent Women by Barbara Pym
- The Ninth Girl by Tami Hoag
- The Boy In the Suitcase by Lene Kaaberbol and Agnete Friis
- Five Days by Douglas Kennedy
- The Stranger You Know by Andrea Kane
- Six Years by Harlan Coben
- The Longings of Wayward Girls by Karen Brown
- The Bookstore by Deborah Meyler
- The Mouse-Proof Kitchen by Saira Shah
I also read a couple of fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen after I visited the H.C. Andersen museum in Odense (I was so inspired by this fabulous museum). So a bit of variety and some books in translation which is always a good thing. Some books I enjoyed more than others and in case you are wondering, my top three books would be The Chemistry of Death, Salinger Contract and Excellent Women.
Let me know if you read some of these and what you thought. Alright, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you in blogland!

You’ve been busy! The only book I’ve read on this list is The Boy in the Suitcase…I listened to the audio and I found it very fast-paced and entertaining. The second book in the series was a bust for me though. I don’t know what the problem was honestly…could have been my mood. I couldn’t even finish it.
I’ve been wanting to read some Barbara Pym!
I haven’t read any of these books. Did you take pictures of the museum? 😉
Oh, I love Hans Christian Anderson! I prefer his stories far more than the Grimm brothers. Lucky you to have visited his home.
Wonderful new look on your blog, too! Welcome home. 😉
Sandy – I had a hard time at first with all the characters and how they would interact but in the end I did enjoy it. However the main character I had some issues with so I’m not sure if I’d be invested in following the series.
Tiffany – This was my second Pym book and it was just as fun as the first one. I do highly recommend giving her a try!
Vasilly – I did take pictures! I still need to go through them all but I’ll definitely be posting some in the next couple of weeks 🙂
Bellezza – Thank you! I can’t believe I never read any of his stories growing up! I guess I was a Grimm girl 🙂 Definitely like the ones I read!
I’ve read The Salinger Contract and The Ninth Girl. I enjoyed both of them.
