I had such a good time at the Rubber Stamp show on Saturday. I watched a couple of demos and found some new products I will have to look for later. I did buy some funky stamps from Invoke Arts and I also bought some pretty half sheets of washi paper (book making is calling my name). My other treasured buy was a Teesha Moore zine.
Art & Life is bursting with color, stories and ideas. I got issue #7 which has a great article on must-read magazines and books for artists and crafters. I can’t wait to check out some of these other publications mentioned. I’ve heard of some but there are a lot still to be discovered.
I also went to Ikea and saw the perfect couch for reading. I don’t like the pattern too much but I like the style a lot. Granted we don’t even have a place to put this but one day I want one.
Now off to do a bit of reading.
Sounds like your creativity got a jump start. YEAH!
I bought MORE yarn this weekend. Like I need it…. But, the store is going to stop selling yarn and it is all 50% off. The bad part is that they sell the amazing yarn that is so expensive. But, I plan on going back this week and getting some more. How can I not????
With reference to your couch – I saw one in a magazine at the weekend that actually had a bookshelf attached to one end. So, as well as saving space, it is within handy distance of the reader – sounds like heaven to me!
I have fantasies about a chaise like that for reading! One day.
Nancy – It does help to see finished products and crafty items. Makes me want to try my hand at making some new things. Have fun buying more yarn – you can never have enough right ๐
heidijane – ooh that would be neat. More bookshelves to fill out!
Tara – You and me both. One day is right.
Oooh, I like that chaise. Especially the blue stripe. We used to have an Eddie Bauer chaise with blue and white ticking. We wound up giving it away when we moved into our little cottage. Not enough room for it in any of our rooms.
Les, who is heading home from the Pacific Northwest tomorrow ๐
Oh I love that couch/chair thingy!!! and the price is right too!
The perfect couch/reading char yes. The one I have is a recent acquisition from Crate&Barrel, after frantically searching and looking for I don’t remember how long. I prefer it to be leather but not too wide between the too arm-rests. The height of the arm-rests has to be perfect so they are at level with my elbows when I’m holding the book. LOL I know I can be too much….
But I’ve found it and I’m loving it. I just keep to keep my puppy off from it.
Wow, that chaise looks incredibly comfy. Not a huge fan of the pattern either, but I could definitely do some major reading in that bad boy.
Glad you had fun this weekend!
Les in NE – Oh no your vacation is over? I’ve so enjoyed looking at all of your pics.
Bookie – If I could find it in a color I really liked I might have to figure a way to squeeze it into our house ๐
Matt – You have one with two arm-rests? Is it a chaise like this one? That sounds nice.
Andi – I know, I’m dreaming of all the hours I’d spend reading in that too!
That couch is delish! Though I would prefer a different look รขโฌโ I’m not a pattern person, much prefer good ol’ solid colours. This is the couch we purchased for our new house, also from IKEA. We’re all about comfort and size. And it works well for reading, too!
