Weekend Wrap Up

We had a great weekend of catching up with new friends over dinner, going to the bookstore, and a bike ride. Unfortunately I didn’t get around to catching up with crafting, emails and other things but I guess that will happen over the week.

So I am thinking of taking a crafty class on embroidery. With that in mind I looked through a couple of books and magazines at the bookstore. I glanced through The Hand Embroidered Haven by Megan Frock and Stitch-opedia by Helen Winthorpe Kendrick. One of my favorite things about bookbinding is the sewing part so I figure this would be like an extension. Plus, I already have quite a collection of embroidery floss which I use for my beaded journals.

Anyway, I don’t really need another hobby as I already have a hard time finding time to bookbind but I don’t know, I sort of imagine the possibilities of combining both one day. There is a local shop where they teach embroidery, knitting and other needle arts so I may just sign up for a class and see how it goes. I may be putting too much thought into this and just need to try and see if I even like it!

What else? Ok guys, I finally read The Fault In Our Stars by John Green and I hate to even say this because I know a lot of people have raved about it but there were some things that bothered me. I’ll try to put my thoughts together on this one and tell you what didn’t work for me. I didn’t hate the book but I don’t think it will go on my list as a favorite read of the year.

So that’s about it for my weekend. I hope you all had a super one and here’s to a great week ahead!
