Today was truly a Monday. My husband had an accident while riding his bike to work when a car cut him off. Luckily he is fine and his bike is fine too but I just wish more people would learn to share the road. Anyway that’s my PSA for the day.
We had a super weekend though and I have to show you some of the pictures we took just so you can see what a great event E.A.S.T. is and why I was so excited to be involved with it even if it was in a small way.
Our first stop of the day was at Flatbed Press which is one of our favorite venues. We saw lithographs being made, chatted with some of the studio artists and saw an really cool photography exhibit.
Our next stop was the Pump Project Satellite as I wanted to see the Women Printmakers studio. I keep saying that I want to take a class in printmaking. Maybe next year. Finally we stopped in at (th)ink tank to get some t-shirts made.
We got to pick our designs and see the guys silkscreen them on the shirts.
And, now here it comes…
Finally, we made a pit stop at The Wondercraft so I could go show my husband where my journals are now being sold. I still think this place is just too cool.
I love all the funky little places in Austin. If you ever want to come visit, coming for the E.A.S.T. event would be a great time to do so. I’m already looking to next year’s event.
Tomorrow it’s back to talking about books. Hope your week has gotten off to a great start.
I’m so glad your husband is OK, Iliana!
The event sounds so much fun; and I’d love to have one of those printed shirts! So cool! 🙂
Thanks for sharing! I especially love the last pic.
That must be wonderful to see your journals on sale. Looks like you had a fairly good weekend, apart from hubby’s accident.
Melody – Thank you! I was really shaken up but he’s good and he’s ready to get back on the bike again 🙂 Aren’t the tshirts cute. We got matching ones. haha…
vivienne – It was a thrill really! I’ve had my journals at another boutique one other time but I like this one much more, I think it’s just more fitting.
Glad your husband is ok! I’ve had several friends get hit by cars while riding and it has made me supremely paranoid. I like the photo with the green “monster” very fun!
Bicycles in Orlando is a scary proposition for the very reason that drivers are idiots and don’t see them. I’m so glad he wasn’t hurt. Your artsy weekend looks like a blast though!
I am so glad your Hubby is ok, Iliana. There are some Idiots on road, I wish I could give some a smack on the head.. just to knock some sense into them 😐
Those T-Shirts are so cute, wish we could get that done too 🙂 and that lil wagon is ultra cute 🙂
Yesterday, Aarya fell off from the bed, and gave me the fright of the lifetime… my mistake :((
We went to the hospital and he is okay and an hour after the fall, he was pulling my hair out in the hospital, when the doc saw him, he was like oh strong boy, doesn’t seem to have any issues lol!
Well that’s all, we are going to our hometown this Friday, finally!!!! I am just waiting for this trip, it is been more than 2 years now.. not gone on a trip since I got pregnant last year! That’s all is the news from here 🙂
Have a great week 🙂
Stefanie – My husband loves to ride but I tell him people here aren’t as used to bikes on the road as they are in Germany! 🙂 Isn’t the green monster great. We couldn’t go into the little gallery though because we were running late. We’ll have to visit another time.
Sandy – I wish more people were able to ride safely. It’s great exercise! 🙂 But I do know there are some very silly cyclists too who don’t follow the rules either.
Veens – Thank you! I can only imagine how scared you must have felt when little Aarya fell. Glad to hear he’s a good strong boy and no harm done. You probably were more scared than him 🙂 Have a wonderful trip and be safe.
Glad to hear your husband was okay after that. It is scary how little cars consider bikes when they are driving! E.A.S.T sounds like a super fun event!
Glad M is OK!
I wish I could have tagged along. This look so interesting and fun!
I think I need to plan a visit to Austin around this next year…..
Glad your hubby is ok.
Wow, it must be awesome to see yoru journals on sale 🙂 congratulations!
Happy Thanksgiving 🙂
Glad to hear your husband is okay–very scary! I think drivers just don’t “see” cyclists and pedestrians sometimes! You guys have a very thriving art scene down there, don’t you! Thanks for sharing photos.
I’m so glad to hear that your husband wasn’t seriously injured, Iliana. What a frightening experience!
Love the tee shirts!
Hey guys – thanks again for all your kind words! My husband is doing well although we did have to go to the doctor on Friday just so he could get his shoulder checked out to be on the safe side. All is good thank goodness. And, Christine you must come down for E.A.S.T. – I know you and M would love it and we’d love to spend time with you guys!
