Wow, you guys, we can breathe a sigh of relief after Saturday’s election news! Is everything going to be great all of a sudden? Of course not but I am hopeful that we can take some actions to make things right on so many things. I just read a headline today about US COVID-19 nearing 10 million cases. That is just depressing and with major holidays coming up I don’t even want to imagine what the numbers will look like by the end of the year.
Anyway, the past week was super busy with work and with the tension of watching the election and stuff, I felt like I couldn’t relax so this weekend, I made up for that for sure. My husband and I watched several interesting shows but one was The Social Dilema. I don’t think it’s surprising in some ways but what I found interesting was how there wasn’t much thought to the consequences of some of these interfaces. At the beginning it all started on keeping people connected and sharing cool stuff but obviously this has morphed into ways of keeping people distracted and misinformed. It was interesting.
I don’t think I told you but last weekend we made a very quick stop at Barnes & Noble and I didn’t even look at any books. Crazy, I know. But I was focused on finding magazines and I did find the latest issue of Flow. I love this magazine because it is all about creativity, taking things slow and enjoying the simple things in life. Again, I was super busy last week so I didn’t have a chance to check it out but I have been spending time with it this weekend. It is a pricey publication but I think it’s definitely well-worth it and I do cut up mine and use some of the articles for my journals or collaging.
Alright friends, I’ve got a busy day again tomorrow at work so now off to get ready for bed. Hope you have a great start to the week.
Yes. A deep sigh of relief. And hoping for a kinder government that will regain the respect of our allies. I need to check out The Social Dilemma, especially since we all have seen both the benefits and the damage that result from social media. Enjoy your new Flow!
I heard earlier this afternoon that there is a promising news about a vaccine. Fingers crossed the news continues to be positive on that front. In the meantime, it is scary watching the virus numbers rise
Definite relief here about the election news. If only it were that simple, right?
I am glad you were able to relax some this weekend. I took a couple of days off from work last week since my daughter had some time off. It wasn’t overly productive, but it was much needed.
I hope you have a great week, Iliana.
The influence of social media can be scary, but they do have the positive side, too. Hope you enjoy reading Flow and that you’ve a smooth week at work.
A deep deep sigh of relief, I am so relieved. Of course, Trump and his coons are calling fraud left, right, and center without any evidence, as expected, but hopefully this nonsense will end soon.
I haven’t ever read the Flow magazine but you’ve caught my interest – I’ll try to check it out.
I’m breathing a little easier this week, but I’m still concerned and won’t feel comfortable until January 20th. Even then…
I want to watch The Social Dilemma, but have a feeling it will only make me angry. I’ve pulled way back from Facebook, but can’t quit Instagram quite yet.
It seems so hard to believe that it’s been two weeks since the election already. Even from north of the border, many of us are still caught in the “refresh page” loop, not for results at this stage, but checking for the latest developments regarding the transition process. Such challenging times. And maybe that’s what every generation says…
