I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was hard for me to want to go outside as our temperatures have been in the 100s and more of the same is expected this week. I did run a few errands and lucked out at Tuesday Morning were I found some fun stamps to use in my crafty projects.
Today we went out to lunch at Mad Greens and had a yummy salad and then went over to Barnes & Noble. It seemed like everyone was at B&N today so we had to wait around for a bit until we could score a table in the cafe but we finally got one.
It makes me sad to see that the craft magazines are slowly disappearing. I guess there are a lot of magazines that are but still I definitely miss some of my favorites like Cloth Paper Scissors. Anyway, I did see the latest edition of Daphne’s Diary and this is a bit of a pricey one but I decided to get it. I think what won me over was the extra booklet on hand lettering and coloring.
The rest of the day I’ve been organizing my studio a bit and playing too. I have so many journals going on and I made progress in my poetry journal, my mixed media journal and my glue book. It’s so much fun to work in all of them. I’m also trying my hand at some line drawing with the help of Botanical Line Drawing by Peggy Dean. It all looks so simple but I need a bit more patience and lots more practice.
Oh and I did start a book for Women in Translation Month but I’ll tell you all about my current reads in my next post! Have a great start of the week.
What a beautiful cover for Daphne’s Diary. I can see why you found it hard to resist.
Sounds like you got a lot accomplished this weekend. I don’t blame you for not wanting to be outside in the heat. I hope you continue to find ways to stay cool! Have a great week!
I love that cover of Daphne’s Diary! Like you, I find it hard to go outside with that heat and humidity. Have fun with your artworks! 🙂
