Do you have big plans for the weekend? Here’s my to do list:
- Go to yoga class Friday & Saturday. I’ve been very consistent with my practice in the past several months going at least three times a week so that makes me happy.
- Check the shelves at Frugal Media. This is like a Half Price Bookstore only locally owned and plus I’ve got a $5 Off coupon.
- Learn the basics of Encaustic painting – so excited about this! I promise to tell you what my class was like and hopefully share an interesting piece.
- Date night at the bookstore. Not sure which bookstore we’ll go to tomorrow but I want to check out some crafty magazines. I think a lot of my favorite ones have new issues out on the stands now.
- Start some new books. I’ve finished a couple of books this week (reviews coming – really!) and so tonight I get to pick a new book from the shelves.
I guess all of that should keep me busy right? heh. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and more book talk soon.

Oh, I’d love to try yoga but most of my time is divided between work and family! I think I’d go for some classes once my daughters are grown up and in school… right now they need my full attention! 😀
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Iliana!
We are going to see Harry Potter, then we will hit the sale at Half Price books, a bike ride, a wedding, and some time with family from out of town. Weather is supposed to be lovely so it should be great.
Yoga is such a good thing. I go with my husband on tuesday night and Sunday midday. I try to squeeze another class on Friday morning on my own but it is a bit early so I don’t always make it. Harry Potter is on my agenda this weekend and more hours in the studio with a stop at the hardware store before because I have to construct some kind of support for a large mask I made. It was Bastille Day on the 14th so the French Community is having a picnic in a park of Anchorage on Saturday. Maybe I will read my Maisie Dobbs’ book in between all this. Enjoy your weekend too.
I hope to finish my current and start the next – I’m working on an 8 book month. I also will walk 3 miles and spend time on the boat. I’m looking forward to hearing about your painting class and I love that you do yoga! I really need to find a class myself but I can’t commit to a schedule right now. Your date nights at the bookstore are so cute.
Boy, sounds like a busy weekend! My husband, daughter, and I are going to friends’ house on Sat. night for dinner. Other than that, we’ll probably lounge around and start getting ready for our camping trip at the end of next week.
Have a great weekend!
I’m at my parents, and my hubby is back in Orlando working. So no date night for me (I cannot even conceive of a date night at a bookstore…only in my dreams!!!). I am pretty much in slug mode here in Indiana…my butt is permanently affixed to the lounger on the deck with a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other!
Sounds like you have a lovely weekend ahead of you! My husband’s birthday is coming up and I am going to the dreaded mall to do some shopping. Luckily there is also a Barnes and Noble at the mall 🙂
I’m jealous of your yoga-ing. Haven’t found a class since we moved to Texas.
Meanwhile, we have a 50% off coupon for HPB, so you know where I’ll be this weekend!
Melody – I totally understand. When I was working full time it was harder to find time for extra stuff. So work & kids I can only imagine keep you very busy! Maybe when your girls get older you all can do some yoga 🙂 Have a good one!
Juliann – Oh you’ve got a lot of stuff going on. Have fun at HPB! For some reason my HPB is not having a sale this weekend. Bleh. You’ll have to tell us how you liked Harry Potter!
Roxane Stoner – Sounds like you’ve got a lot of great plans too. How nice that your hubby goes with you to yoga! My husband doesn’t go but he says he gets all of his fitness from cycling everyday. Have fun at Bastille Day and looking forward to seeing your work 🙂
Care – Ah, I hope you have wonderful weather for your boating this weekend! I feel like my reading has been a bit slow going this month so probably no 8 books!
Anna – Lounging around sounds good too! 🙂 Sometimes you just want a weekend of nothing to relax right? Have fun over at your friends!
Sandy – I’m lucky my husband is a bookworm too! You are too funny… How long will you be in Indiana? Actually a book and glass of wine in hand sound like a lovely combination! 🙂
Stefanie – The Mall – shudders! I remember how much I used to love the mall when I was a teen. Actually I don’t mind the mall as long as I go when it’s not crowded! Have fun at B&N and hope you find the perfect gift for Mr. Bookman 🙂
Tiffany – We have tons of yoga studios in Austin the problem is they are kind of pricey. I’m lucky though that my gym has some amazing yoga teachers. Have fun at HPB and hope you find lots of goodies 🙂
Your yoga practice sounds great. I did yoga regularly for some time, now I have problems with my wrists so it’s painful to do many of the positions so I haven’t done it properly in years.
have a great weekend. I enjoy yoga too 🙂 it totally relaxes me.
Sounds like you have a nice weekend ahead of you. No big plans for us this weekend other than trying to empty some of the remaining boxes and get the study/book room organized.
I’ve been reading through some of your older posts that I missed over the last month, and Happy Belated Bloggiversary! Here’s hoping you’ll be blogging for many more years to come! 🙂
That sounds like a fun weekend! I don’t have anything special planned though I would love to go out to dinner–it’s been ages and ages since we’ve eaten out. I might just start a new book or two as well, though I absolutely shouldn’t…..Enjoy your weekend!
Sounds like a great weekend to me. The Frugal Media must be awesome.
I can’t wait to hear about the Encaustic painting. My painting this weekend is more in the eggshell on dining room wall style. LOL
Sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead of you. 🙂 I am not sure what we’ll be up to this weekend. I hope to spend some quality time reading.
I enjoy yoga too…but lately I’ve been doing lots of walking workouts with weights, and loving it.
I’ll be reading this weekend, getting a haircut, and staying warm! It’s supposed to be unseasonably cool here in Michigan (low 60’s for the high!)
Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. Hope you enjoy it!
Have a great weekend, Iliana! Your plans sound fun 😀
Have fun developing mind and body!
I am reading Map of Glass by Jane Urquhart. Plus, enjoying visits from relatives.
I love how you have date night at the bookstore…I would love to do this with my husband, but he’s not that into reading
What a fun weekend! Good for you, keeping to your yoga practice; I really like the classes when I go (only once a week), but our classes are on hiatus for the summer. I’ve tried using a DVD at home, but I miss my instructor.
J and I love bookstore date nights. This is how we spent many evenings when we were dating, and it’s fun to go back and re-visit our favorites … I never come home empty-handed.
Enjoy the weekend!
Tara – I feel like my wrists are weak too but my yoga teacher has shown me a way to modify some of my positions. You basically make a fist so that your wrists don’t bend. It’s a bit awkward but it really helps. I don’t do that all the time but it’s nice to break it up during practice.
bookworm – It was a great weekend and yep, that’s why I do yoga. I need to calm my mind. It’s great for anxiety!
tanabata – I can only imagine how many boxes you had to go through just for your books alone! Well, at least the book organizing is fun! And, thank you for the anniversary wishes 🙂
Danielle – Hope you went out to dinner and started a new book. We went out for lunch today and had some yummy tacos. And, I started a new book too 🙂
Wisteria – You are too funny. Hope your painting went well! Frugal Media was nice but they needed some major A.C. there – I was melting!
Literary Feline – Hope you were able to enjoy some good books this weekend. My weekend was so busy I didn’t get a chance to blog hop but at least that’ll be a fun way to start the week!
ravenous reader – I wish we could send you some of our heat. We’ve been in the 100s all week and am so tired of that. I love to go for walks too and would do it outdoor more often but again, the heat! haha…
Kathleen – It was so good. Now I’m going to finish up the weekend with a movie to watch!
Nymeth – Hope you had a great weekend too! I need to stop by your blog and see what you are reading now 🙂
jenclair – You bet – I did! I hope your workshop is going great!
Isabel – I’m sorry I missed your call girl. Will have to call you this week to catch up. Hope you had fun with the relatives!
Serena (Savvy Verse & Wit) – I’m so glad my husband is a bookworm. We read different kinds of books and magazines but we love to hang out at the bookstore.
Dawn – She is Too Fond of Books – I’ve tried doing yoga at home and well I get distracted easily so I do much better with an instructor. Have you tried podcasts? I just downloaded some. I wonder how I will like those. Glad to hear you and your hubby also enjoy the bookstore. Isn’t it just the best? Love to spend a quiet weekend doing that.
jeez! I will tell you what i did this weekend — NOTHING! no reading. nothing! I well saw couple of movies ~~ like umm! can’t remember 🙁
but quality time spent with hubby ~~ just priceless!
