I feel like my shelves are starting to look like the ones shown in this card. This weekend I want to enjoy hanging out with my piles of unread books. I am sure a little trip to the bookstore will also be in order, and who knows, I may just throw caution to the wind and even go to the library.
Anyone have any bookish plans this weekend? Whatever they are, I hope some good books are involved. Happy Weekend!

Hah, I love that picture!
Saturday is supposed to be a nice rainy day here, so I’m hoping to tackle at least one of the library books that have been languishing on my bedside table for the last couple of weeks …
Have a lovely weekend!
I have to organize my book shelves. I have piles forming in the front of the nicely organized ones, but not because of buying, because of reading. I don’t think I have organized my bookshelves to make room for the books I have read in quite a while. I never seem to have the time because it is a big undertaking (I alphabetize). Not what I am going to do this weekend, though. This weekend I am going to study for an exam, write the exam on Saturday night (yuck), and then study for two more exams. I might read in their somewhere. I also want to try and write some reviews, I am way behind.
We have so many books that we don’t have enough place for them all. Recently, my husband and I took several boxes to half price books to sell back. We’ve made some room, but still not enought. We must still have at least 700 books! It’s time for some spring cleaning. Hope you have a good weekend reading.
I have had a good week of reading (THE BELL JAR by SYLVIA PLATH followed by FOREVER LILY by BETH NONTE RUSSELL) but don’t see a lot of time for it this weekend. I have a trip to Kyoto followed by a trip to Tokyo next week so I hope to catch up on some reading in transit and right before bed each night though the flight from Okinawa is only two and a half hours to Mainland Japan.
I am doing three different reading club events at the moment but triple-timing a couple of titles. I have two different books due for May though. THE EMPEROR’S CHILDREN by CLAIRE MESSUD and WATER FOR ELEPHANTS by SARA GRUEN. Wish me luck!!!

I love this picture – it’ll look great as a bookplate.
So glad the weekend is coming. I’ll probably be trying to finish up some of my reading in progress – and getting back to yoga class.
You have fun with your weekend too, okay? Cheers.
Have a good weekend!
That image looks familiar! =)
If I had my books all in one place — mine would look somewhat similar to that pic.
Not a lot of time for reading this weekend but I am reading….so hopefully I can steal some time away for that over the weekend!
What a fantastic picture! I am playing to snuggle up and read some books and try and persuade my OH to drive us somewhere with lots of bookshops to browse and buy in. Not much where I live so need the OH to take me:(
I need to organize a few book piles. I’m also going to Barnes and Noble tonight. I’m only planning on getting a mocha and soaking in the bookstore atmosphere. Which means I’ll leave with two or three books 🙂
Lesley – Rainy days are perfect for staying home with the books aren’t they? Enjoy your library book!
Kailana – Oh I don’t envy you studying for exams. So glad those days are long gone for me although I still have nightmares that I didn’t complete a class and can’t graduate. Isn’t that hilarious. Well, hope you can get some fun reading done too.
Shadan – I think I need to do a bit of book weeding too. Although at this point it’s my unread books that are taking over the house! ha,ha.
Karen – I just read the Bell Jar last year. Absolutely loved it. Hope you can get some reading done while waiting for flights and all that!
Dark Orpheus – Isn’t it cool? My friend Christine sent me and it’s been taped to my bedroom door but I feel like I need to do something else with it. Gotta put my crafty hat on 🙂 Enjoy yoga!
Nik – Go have a yummy cappuccino this weekend ok? 🙂
Christine – See, I do keep everything 🙂 Have a great one girl!
A.Book.in.the.life – Oh that’s not good that you don’t have bookshops near you. Hope you are able to go visit some this weekend!
Stefanie – I think that’s where we are going tonight too so I’ll share a mocha with you… just miles away 🙂
I have finished my soujourn at Wigtown, Scotland. I bought a lot of little books that you can’t find in the US, like an RAF embroidery book and the Blue Book guide to Scotland.
I have to take them home soon.
Going off to Manchester tomorrow.
I am at the Wigtown Library. I can type this: £££
Those shelves look like the ones my husband wishes we had — tall, full of books, with a nice ladder running around. Sigh. Someday.
It’s supposed to snow here tonight. They’re predicting at least 4 inches. I was going to go out tomorrow, but maybe I’ll just stay in. Thankfully, I just made a run to the library. Some people stock up on bread, but I think books are much more important.
Love that picture !
The weather is definitely taking a turn for the worse this weekend, so it should be perfect for catching up on my reading. I also need to make place on my bookshelves *sigh* .
My weekend will be spent working with books (children’s library duty both days) and trying to catch up on the bunch I have to read. Since I’ve given up tv for the week…this may be easier than usual!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I hope to get a little Once Upon a Time reading done plus get caught up with my Fables comics…I haven’t read the past 10 issues and need to get back up to speed.
Isabel – How’s Wigtown? I want to hear everything! Give Andy a hug from me!
Melissa – I want some shelves like those too. I can’t believe the snow forecast. Although I would actually prefer that rather than the tornado watch we are on this evening. Ugh.
Gavin – What kind of weather are you having? I hear you on the problem of finding a space on the shelves. sigh.
Amanda – Have fun at the library and maybe you can sneak in some reading time 🙂 Good for you for giving up tv for the week. I only watch two shows so I can have as much reading time as possible.
Carl V. – I have a back pile of magazines and journals so I can relate! Have fun reading!
What a great picture! I’m hoping to sneak in a bunch of reading, this weekend. We’ll see. Rain is expected, the guys are going to a swim meet, and that means a quiet house! 🙂
Sorry, you had a long day. OR has it been a long week. Sheesh!
I am hoping to get thru my giant pile of library books. But, some may have to go back unread.
Have a peaceful weekend.
I love that cover! Yes, I have to finish reading the last of my Spring Break books to read. I have about 100 pages to go. I go back to teaching Monday. I hope all your plans this weekend are fulfilled.
Great pix that, Iliana! I’m indoors today, despite plans to add to my rapidly shrinking TBR pile, no thanks to a cold. Can’t go tomorrow cause I’m getting a visit from some family. Looks like book shopping will have to wait till next week. I’m thinking of starting on Hornby’s The Complete Polysyllabic Spree, or maybe Burton’s The King’s English. Hmmm….
I got this card for my birthday this year and just loved the picture! I’m trying to get back into reading after a dry spell. You know how that goes! So far I’ve faffed around at home, gone shopping and caught up a tiny bit on my blog reading (I’ve been hugely behind). So, not there yet, but still juggling the good intentions! Have a lovely weekend, Iliana!
I hope you survived the terrible weather down there!
Nancy, aka Bookfool – Did you end up having a quiet house? Hope you got your reading done 🙂
Nancy – It was a long week, actually make that two! I have to return some unread books too. boo-hoo. Peace to you too!
JCR – Oh I bet it’s hard to go back after Spring Break isn’t it? So far my weekend plans are going well 🙂
Kisane – Ugh a cold? That’s not good! Feel better and just stay in bed with your books. I want to read The Polysyllabic Spree too.
Litlove – Isn’t it a great card. Hope you find a wonderful book to get over that dry spell 🙂
Les in NE – It was pretty rough. I left work early on Friday to avoid driving in the bad weather. I am pretty sure I even heard one of the tornado sirens going off. Yikes! Luckily all we got was just heavy rain and wind.
On Friday it was cold and rainy. It seems to have cleared up some what today thought 🙂 BTW : It never snows here, even in the “deepest” of winters.
Gavin – We hardly get any snow in winter either. We do get ice storms though and those are terrible. The whole city just comes to a halt. Glad the weekend weather got better though!
The weather here was lovely, so hot and sunny- it continue today which was great! I just wish i had a garden to sit it and read!
Haha! What a great picture. Looks like my dream at home library 😉
