I hope everyone had a great weekend. I’ve missed you guys as I haven’t had a chance to blog visit much these last few days. I’ve been doing quite a bit of crafting, which is fun, but now I get to spend Monday on jury duty. I’d much rather be crafting and blogging, you know.
So, I just wanted to stop in and remind you to go visit your library this week – it’s National Library Week! I have some holds waiting for me so I hope jury duty won’t take too long and I can rush off to the library instead.
Now, I’ve got to go pack a book bag to have with me tomorrow morning.

Just a quick shout-out, I’m still in Hong Kong for intervie…it feels weird and displaced to be actually “livingâ€in hometown! Gotta go look for more books as I’ll be running out… 🙂
Got a few books that are very good reads…drowning in The Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian. I’ve also got Woman in White….
Are you actually on a jury, Iliana? I am one of the few people who actually likes jury duty, but I’m rarely called for an actual trial.
Have a great week!
oh, yay! I am very excited….maybe the library will give me some of their books!! Hahah..no, they won’t , but that would be very nice.
Thanks for letting me know about the library week!
I didn’t realize this week is National Library Week! Hope you’ll find more books to read at the library tomorrow! 😉
Yay! I’m going to the library today. Gotta turn in How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents (didn’t finish…blah), and maybe pick up something new.
Take a nice long book with you to jury duty! I remember reading Margaret George’s chunky Henry VIII book when I got called (and had to serve on one!).
You will be near the Dallas Public Library. The little used book store might have some wonderful finds.
How convenient, I just checked out a couple of things from the library. I’ve been doing much better this year using my local library and taking advantage of that.
I’m going to the library tomorrow…I have to return a book on the historical King Arthur, and I want to check out Primo Levi’s If This is a Man for the Themed Reading Challenge.
I hope jury duty doesn’t take too long!
I’m at the library AT LEAST once a week. It’s quite the family outing. Too bad my kids are more impressed with the computers than the books. At least they enjoy story time.
Matt – Good to hear from you! I’ve been enjoying your photos of Hong Kong and need to visit your blog to catch up on the latest news… What’s this about interviews?! I hope you like Tractors… It was a bit of a mix bag for me.
Literary Feline – No, I was just summoned by luckily I wasn’t picked! I am sort of interested in what it must be liked but I really don’t want to be selected 🙂
bethany – haha.. Wouldn’t that be great?! I need to go later today to pick up my holds.
Melody – Isn’t that a cool “day”? I’m surprised Hallmark hasn’t come up with a card. I’d buy it 🙂
Andi – Did you not like the book? Almost everyone I know who’s read it loves it but me! I have tried another Alvarez novel and loved it so I’m willing to try more. Good luck finding a good book.
Danielle – I took two books just and actually read a bit in both. I had to take the bus into downtown and back and of course a lot of waiting around so that was at least a nice chunk of reading time!
Isabel – I totally forgot about the DPL. Oh well…. I’m going to a library tonight and I’ll have to check their sale room 🙂
Carl V. – See your bookworm radar was working! I’ve actually not been checking out as many books this year because I’m determined to work through some of my stacks!
Nymeth – I was lucky and it was only half a day. I am surprised at how many people were there without books or something to read. I would have passed out! Hope you find the Levi book!
Nicole – Me too! I don’t always check out stuff for me… Get a lot of stuff for my mom but still I love going. Well, at least your kids are in the library surrounded by books. I’m sure book love is going to catch up with them 🙂
I’m going to walk over to the library right now! Thanks for the reminder!
Oh, thanks for the reminder about Library Week! I guess it’s time to inaugurate my new card…
Hopefully some of my holds will arrive so my card will get a workout! It seems I’m always being called for jury duty….the last time I was breastfeeding which was a big pain….but have never even seen the inside of a courtroom.
Jury duty may be lots of waiting around, but I have found it is also prime, no-guilt reading time 🙂
Gentle Reader – You get to walk to the library. How nice! I wish my library was within walking distance. I guess it sort of is but traffic is kinda bad so I don’t trust the drivers 😉
LK – Yay! You gotta tell us what you got.
tara – I feel like I’m always called too! I hope you were able to get out of it when you were breastfeeding. I would think that is a good excuse!
Stefanie – That is true! I have to say it was interesting to see what other people were reading. Lots of romances and crime novels.
The library is our second home or so if feels. My library card stays close to the limit.
Love that you are promoting this!
J. Kaye – Isn’t the library wonderful? I love to go there and sit and read. Even if I don’t necessarily check out a book although it’s hard to leave without anything 🙂
I have been using my library like crazy lately! Although I have 2 cookbooks I keep forgetting to return, yikes!
