I have some great books to tell you about but I have to put off that post a bit longer while I put together my thoughts on those.
For now I’ll just leave you with a list of some of the books that are in my reading queue. I’ve included ARCs, challenge reads, book group reads, and the reading at whim books. I think I have some great books waiting for me don’t you think?
- The Stone Gods by Jeanette Winterson
- A Lady of Quality by Georgette Heyer
- Of Men and Their Mothers by Mameve Medwed (I loved her book How Elizabeth Barrett Browning Saved My Life)
- Bound by Sally Gunning (Tara recently reviewed this one and it sounds great)
- The Ten Year Nap by Meg Wolitzer
- The Space Between Us by Thrity Umrigar
- The Cruelest Month by Louise Penny (This is the third book in the Inspector Gamache series)
- The Mystery of Mary Rogers by Rick Geary (another graphic novel from the Treasury of Victorian Murder)
I want to start reading them all now. Sigh.

I keep eying The Ten Year Nap and will be curious to read your thoughts on it, Iliana.
The Space Between Us was really good, I thought. One of my favorite books the year I read it.
I picked up The Space Between Us at a used bookshop recently without knowing anything about it… glad to see that it was probably a good choice! I haven’t heard of any of the others…
I added the Ten Year Nap as well!
I’ve heard of TheTen Year Nap and can’t wait to get my hands on it. Read that one first and then tell us about it!! 😉
Those all sound fun. You do have some good reading to look forward to. The only one I actually own is The Space Between Us. Can’t wait to hear what you think of it.
Literary Feline – I first heard about it on NPR and they had some good discussion on it! I do want to read Space Between Us too but I don’t know if I’ll finish it in time for book group – yikes! 🙂
joanna – I know Tara also recently reviewed it and I liked what I read about it. I hope it’ll be a good read!
Kristen – It sounds like a good read doesn’t it!
Mrs. B – Ok, I think I’m going to have to start on that one first 🙂
tanabata – I’ll keep you posted! 🙂
You need to grow 2 more eyes and 2 more arms and hands.
Lordy, that’s a lot of books. And they all sound really good!! I haven’t read any of them, so I’m anxiously awaiting your reviews!
I, too, loved The Space Between Us. I listed it as one of my favorite reads in 2006. I’ve still not begun The Stone Gods!
I’m not familiar with any of those books, but I look forward to your reviews. I hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to steal your idea and make a similar post!
I want to read Bound after reading Tara’s review, too! I also always enjoy Georgette Heyer, will be interested to hear what you think 🙂
Isabel – ha,ha.. You are right 🙂
stephanie – I know too many right. And, I’ve hardly had time to read this week so I’m already way behind!
jenclair – ooh yay! I haven’t opened it yet but I still hope to at least start it in time for discussion next week.
dew – steal away! I wanna see what you’ll be reading next 🙂
Gentle Reader – She wrote a great review didn’t she? I’ve only read one Heyer and that was fun so I’m hoping this one will be another great read!
Thanks for saying such nice things about me! Sheesh, I’m blushing. I hope you enjoy all these books, and I will of course be especially interested to see what you think of Bound and the Umrigar.
I’ve got an ARC of The Space Between Us, too. Glad to hear so many good remarks about it. Now to find the time to actually read it! 🙂
Tara – 🙂
Les in NE – Ooh you got an ARC of that one? Mine is a library copy and I need to renew it!
