I started reading two new books yesterday. Don’t you just love those first few pages in a book? When there is so much expectation of what is to come. Granted if those first 30 pages don’t grab me then I move on.
I used to be one of those tenacious readers who trudged on through the end even if I didn’t like the book but not anymore. I have too many stacks waiting to be read so the 30-page rule is a must.
Which books did I start? The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. How could I pass that up after so many of you recommended it to me. So far I’m very impressed. I don’t normally read books about royalty so this is quite different for me but I like it.
The other book I started is Kissed a Sad Goodbye by Deborah Crombie. I had read up to book four in the series but someone in my mystery book group spoiled what happened in the next several book. Let me tell you, a murder at our Murder on Mondays group was narrowly missed. I hate spoilers. Anyway, enough time has passed to where I can finally pick up that series again.
