Since I’ve mentioned that I’ve been juggling quite a few books I though it was the perfect time for a Tuesday Intro post so you could hear at least about one of the books I’m reading. First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros is hosted by Diane at Bibliophile by the Sea. Here’s my intro & a quote:
“Love and scandal are the best sweeteners of tea – Henry Fieldingâ€
“A couple of people were sitting at the tables outside, but inside the café looked quiet. She pushed the stained-glass front door, a bell signaling her arrival. As she stepped inside, she breathed in the unmistakable aroma of freshly baked scones. It enveloped her, as comforting as a duvet on a chilly winter’s day. The interior of the Seafront was reassuringly familiar – the wooden tables neatly laid with pressed white tablecloths, the delicate chine teacups lining the shelves, and the 1920s table lamps.â€
The Seafront Tearoom by Vanessa Greene
I don’t know about you but just from that introduction I wouldn’t mind stopping by the Seafront Tearoom myself. I don’t drink tea as much as I do coffee but I do enjoy a good cup of a flavored tea and I especially like drinking tea in the wintertime. As far as the baked goods are concerned, those are my biggest weakness. Scones, cookies, pies, oh my.
This book has reminded me of my visit to Bath many years ago. We stopped at Sally Lunn’s and had the most delicious afternoon tea.
Anyway, tell me, do you enjoy tea and what’s your favorite? Any one in particular you recommend?
Love Earl Grey (which reminds me of London visits–just smelling the bergamot makes me think of England). I also drink a lot of honey/lemon decaf green tea in the afternoon and evening. 🙂
I rarely drink tea, but I love scones (and bought a delicious vanilla scone at our Farmers Market yesterday!) and this setting sounds delightful. Thanks for the intro.
