Two new magazines arrived in my mailbox this week, Artitudezine and Somerset Studio. I haven’t been crafting as much these past two-three months. My poor art table is collecting dust. I really miss crafting but I just haven’t been organized and motivated enough to do something about it. I hope these magazines will help me get back a bit of my crafty spark.
In other bookish news, I re-discovered a great source for mystery books, Mystery Ink. I am pretty sure I’ve visited this site before but I had forgotten about it. Lots of mystery book reviews and they also present the Gumshoe Awards for best mystery, thriller, etc. Check out the recent and past winners here.
I’m a bit late but still want to give a shout out to Estella’s Revenge. Another fabulous issue is online so check it out if you haven’t already.
Finally, I also found another online discount bookshop, Bargain Bookshop. It reminds me a bit of Bookcloseouts and Pennyworth Books. I haven’t ordered anything from them yet but I’ll let you know when I do.
That’s it for tonight. Gotta go read.
I have not done any crafting in over a month. I’ve been reading a lot more though!
Hope you get creative soon. I have not done much either.
Hi, thanks for the link to Bargain Bookshop – I just hope I can put off buying anything there for awhile!
I need to get over and read Estella’s Revenge…I am a bit behind.
Sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy and hopefully *spark* some crafty inspiration…
Stephanie – Me too so at least there is that 🙂
Nancy – Thanks. Must be something with the planets don’t you think? 🙂
Tara – I know what you mean. I’m trying to be a good bookgirl and not order anything just yet.
Christine – Thanks girl. I hope so too. I realized I have a bag from Michael’s with some new products still sealed and all. I really need to get with it.
I almost crapped my pants when I realized, just a few minutes ago, that Joshilyn Jackson linked us on her blog. YAYYYYY!!!
Thanks for the shout out!
Holla!
Ack! Don’t tempt me with book-buying sites! I just set myself a challenge to try and refrain from bringing more new books into the house – we’ll see how that goes, haha.
Regarding the crafting, I hope you get inspired – I’ve loved everything of yours I’ve seen.
Andi – That’s so cool. I need to check out her blog.
Lesley – Ha, I’m so evil 🙂 And, thank you. I promise if I make anything this weekend I’ll have a picture.
I probably did not need to know about the bargain book site!!!
Craft-wise, I used to constantly have my hands busy and I no longer do crafts at all. If you’ve got a table, you’ll get back to it. My problem is space. I’ve never had a good place to craft in my current house, so I just did kid crafts on the dining table when the kids were smaller.
Thanks for the links. The Mystery Ink site looks like something I’ll use. It’s a pity bargainbooks only ships to U.S…
Thanks for the bargainbooks site. I have my wishlist gathering already. Reminds me of when bookcloseout just started. I did a side by side price comparison. Bargainbooks beat out bookcloseout most of the time, but the shipping is pretty pricey, especially for the amount of books I am looking to order!!
Nancy – I just need to clean my table. Now it’s piled high with clothes and other things not related to crafts! Terrible.
Gavin – That is a bummer. Have you tried bookcloseouts? I don’t know if they ship overseas but they are a great source.
Megan – I did notice the shipping and I agree it’s a bit much, well if you plan to buy a lot of books it can add up.
