I can’t believe the weekend is almost over. I felt very productive this weekend although there are a bunch of other things I didn’t get to but I guess they’ll have to wait until next weekend. Aside from the chores and errands, I did a bit of crafting.
I usually have several ongoing projects and sometimes it takes me a while to finish them so I finally finished two this weekend. A made a couple of junk journal notebooks and although mine don’t have a lot of embellishments like some I’ve seen, I love just the selecting of the papers that go in them. I try to use some blank paper so there is space for writing but a lot of the papers I use for these are vintage, book pages, magazine pages, etc. More on those to come.
Another project I worked on a bit was my art journal. I did some collaging and journaling. I am curious if I’ll be able to complete another journal this year.
On the book front, I’m still trying to finish Autie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions. Even though I’m more than half way I’m not quite sure what to make of it. Sometimes it seems over the top but then I start to feel a bit bad for Auntie Poldi. Anyway, let’s see what my group thinks about the book.
What about you, what were you up to this weekend?
Love the cover of your junk journal! I think we need a flip-through to see the papers you’ve chosen. I’m mostly working on my mail art–my journals are ugly and messy and chaotic, but I keep quotes, ideas, and occasional experiments in them. When I finish my current commonplace book, I hope to be more organized in my next one!
Sounds like you had a nice weekend, Iliana. We got back on Saturday from being away in New Mexico and I’ve spent today trying to get caught up on some ‘home’ things. I haven’t read the book that your group will discuss this week. Have heard about it. Hope you guys have a good talk about it, whether you finish it or not. We listened to the book our mystery group is doing for September on the trip and were not very pleased with it. My husband really didn’t like it a bit actually. He told me he wanted to share his ‘review’ with the group and proceeded to list his opinions. I laughed and told him he could come to the meeting, but he declined. Just said, tell them what I said. An I will. Ha! The book was Brad Meltzer’s The Escape Artist by the way. I’ll be curious what others thought. I didn’t like it either.
