Today would have been the perfect day to stay home and read because it’s been raining quite a bit since yesterday. We didn’t do too much this weekend but I did take a couple of naps, finally felt well enough to do my bike again (indoors) and yes, we made it to the bookstore!
I didn’t buy anything but my husband got the latest Lee Child book, Make Me. I think he’s read all of the previous books in the Jack Reacher series but I haven’t read one yet but maybe one day. Â Why didn’t I get any books? I couldn’t make up my mind. Oh well, I’m sure we’ll go back soon so I can think about that some more this week.
In the meantime, I have received quite a few ARCs that I wanted to show you.
Summer at Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan. I am pretty sure I’ve read something by Jenny Colgan a long time ago and this sounds like a fun summer read.
One Paris Summer by Denise Grover Swank. A YA story about love and friendship in Paris.
Portrait Of A Conspiracy by Donna Russo Morin. One murder ignites the powder keg that consumes a Florence under the iron rule of the powerful Medici family.
Poems That Make Grown Women Cry. I am already looking forward to this one.
The Asset by Shane Kuhn. A heart-pounding thriller about a private airport security contractor.
I think the first one I want to pick up is the poetry collection but first I have to finish my book for tomorrow’s book group meeting. So off to do that!
I hope you aren’t getting all the rain and flooding like they are in Houston. It is gray and rainy here today too and I wish I could have stayed home to read.
Enjoy all of your new books!!
Some days, I come home without buying any books! I am shocked by that too but oh well. That happened this weekend – I wanted to buy the Marie Kondo book but then walked away empty-handed.
I’m not familiar with any of these authors, but hopefully your (eventual) reviews will give us all more insight!
