I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was too short though wasn’t it? I didn’t get a lot of reading done although I did indulge in a very long nap one day and that was so good. I haven’t made it to yoga in a couple of months as the scheduled changed a bit so a nap is a good way to get in my restorative time.
On to the books though. I was getting a little bit frustrated with my current mysteries that I thought the only thing to do was start a new book. A mystery that I really wanted to read and I picked up The Reckoning by Jane Casey which is the second book in the Maeve Kerrigan series. I read the first one last year and really liked the main character so all my other books are set aside in favor of this one.
Also I forgot to mention that I appreciated all the feedback you guys had on audiobooks. I am still giving my audiobook a go and am up to chapter nine. I still get distracted but I’m hanging in there. It’s better than watching some of the stuff that’s on t.v. at the gym that’s for sure.
Alright there’s still a little bit of time before it’s time to go to sleep so I’m going back to my book.
I don’t know if you have read any of Mo Hayder’s Jack Caffrey books, but I am so addicted. This is some of the best mystery writing I’ve ever read. I just…can’t get enough of it.
Weekends are definitely too short and they go by ever so fast.
The weekend is always too short! I wish I always had Mondays off. I like audio books too, but my problem is that I listen at bedtime and wind up falling asleep then being lost as to where I was at in the story.
Today is the last day of my weekend, so I’m filling it with reading, journal writing, and watching a movie or two.
After you wrote your post about decorative papers, I went and bought the latest issue of The Paper Stack along with a magazine called Flow. It’s a great splurge! =-) I have some papers that aren’t my style. Would you like them? I can mail them to you.
Enjoy your day.
Oh, I just finished The Burning (my first by Jane Casey) and have a review scheduled. I definitely intend to go back and pick up the first two in the series!
Sandy – I have not read that series although I know you and Melody love it! One of these days I will get to it.
Stefanie – I keep advocating for three day weekends but no one is listening to me 🙂
Bookworm – Oh I definitely don’t think I could do an audiobook while in bed. I would probably fall asleep in no time! haha…
Vasilly – You are awesome! I just sent you an email 🙂
Jenclair – Wait, I thought The Burning was the first one? I could be wrong as overseas books are always published out of order. Darn. I’m really enjoying The Reckoning!
