This week has been hectic at work so I’m counting down to the weekend. Tomorrow I get to see one of my best friends and I can’t wait for all the catching up we have ahead of us. I haven’t seen her in years so I’m super excited.
On the reading front, I’m making progress with my R.I.P. Challenge reads. I’ve been reading some short stories from The Big Book of Ghost Stories and I finished one of my boos, Dracula! More on that later but this weekend I will have to decide on my second book for the challenge. I am in the mood for a good ghost story so if you’ve got one to recommend please let me know.
Finally, I’m very excited that Fall finally seems to have started here in Austin. The temperatures are cooler and we’ve had quite a bit of rain so it’s the perfect time for tea. I just bought a new one to try. I do prefer coffee over tea but for some reason Fall and Winter feel like they just go with tea. I still won’t give up coffee though. Hee.
Here’s to a wonderful weekend. Read lots of good stuff and I’ll be back with more book talk soon.
We a tiny little brisk breeze, then it got hot again. I think in another week our high should be mid-70’s and I cannot wait! Good luck on your RIP reads…I didn’t sign up for the challenge but I could have because I’ve been on a real bender!
I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing and fun weekend catching up with your friend! We have the possibility of snow in the forecast for Sunday!
I wish I was doing well with R.I.P. There is just too much else going on in my life and reading is just failing… I am glad you are reading some good stuff. 🙂
Hope you have a nice weekend catching up with your bestie. I love tea and the vanilla almond sounds good! Happy reading for r.i.p. I always enjoy a good ghost story myself. King is my favorite and I just finished re-reading The Shining which was really good. I also like to dip in and out of my collection of Edgar Allen Poe short stories this time of year.
The Curse of Malenfer Manor by Ian McChesley was an interesting ghost story!
I’m the opposite — totally stopped drinking coffee during the hottest months and switched to iced tea. Now, I’m starting to drink coffee, again. So nice to finally cool off, isn’t it? I don’t have any great ghost stories to recommend, unfortunately. Love reading spooky books in the fall.
I hope you have enjoyed your weekend! I’m curious what you thought of Dracula.
Sandy – You totally should have joined the challenge! Your Mo Hayder books certainly would have been perfect reads!
Stefanie – I haven’t had the chance to catch up with your blog – did you get snow?! Yikes, we got chilly temps in the night but by afternoon we were back in the 70s and sunny. My kind of weather!
Kailana – I’m surprised I’m doing so well with the challenge. You’ve got a lot of stuff going on and reading is supposed to be fun anyway so maybe next time right?
Bookworm – My tea is delicious – I recommend it. I thought about reading some Edgar Allen Poe but got sidetracked by a library book of ghost stories – I’ve read some good ones!
Jenclair – I’m making a note of that one as I’m not familiar with it. By the way I did pick up Delia’s Shadow and you are right, it’s a bit more romancy than I expected but I’m enjoying it quite a bit.
Bookfool, aka Nancy – The only time I drink iced-tea is in restaurants. haha… You would think that with our weather I would drink more. And, yes, so nice to finally have cooler temps.
Rebecca H – I loved it! I promise to write a bit more about my experience with it.
