I hope you’ve all been having a great month so far. I was down with a yucky cold for almost two weeks so that was no fun but luckily am much better now and ready to get back to fun stuff.
Before the cold/sinus infection bug I had I was busy catching a wonderful exhibit at the Ransom center on The Greenwich Village Bookshop and Banned, Burned, Seized, and Censored which was fantastic. My only regret is that I waited until the last day to see these exhibits. I should have gone sooner so I could have gone back for a more thorough visit.
I also got a chance to go back to Stamp Antonio for another bookbinding class. It was kind of funny though because the way the class was described I was expecting that we would be making a different type of book and instead we made a stab bound book. Not my favorite bookbinding technique but still a lot of fun to hang out with artsy/craftsy types. Plus, I’ve also learned about a new cutting machine I must get as my husband gets tired of cutting my book board for me. Ha.
While I was sick I tried to relax as much as possible. I’ve missed my yoga a lot although I finally went back to a class on Saturday and it was pure bliss. I also have been reading tons although surprisingly I’ve read a couple of romance novels. Not really my cup of tea but for some reason I was really drawn to those for a couple of days. Don’t worry I still mixed in a couple of mysteries as those really are my go-to comfort books.
Anyway, I’ll tell you more about some book buying sprees I’ve had, I’ll share pictures of my stab bound book (even if it is still unfinished) and of course I’ll have to come back with a round up of the books I’ve been reading. Now, to get ready for another work week. Sweet dreams, everyone.
Sorry to hear you were sick. Hopefully you are feeling better!
Maybe I’m doing something wrong…getting back to exercise after I’ve been ill always feels the opposite of “pure bliss”. Heh. Glad to hear that you’re on the mend though!
Sorry to hear you were under the weather but I am glad you are feeling better!
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I was just thinking on Friday that I hadn’t seen a post from you in awhile and was hoping you were okay. Sounds like you’ve had some good reading even in the midst of being sick.
Aw, sorry you’ve been sick. I’m glad you’re better. You sound almost embarrassed that you read romance! There’s some great romance, out there. It’s not my favorite genre, either, but sometimes I’ll read a romance for a mental break.
So glad you’re feeling better. It sounds as though you’ve been busy busy.
I *almost* got sick two weeks ago and finally gave in and bought Airborne which I’ve heard so much about. Well, let me tell you, I will be making sure I always have it on hand. I didn’t get full-on sick like I usually do. Normally, I’m down for a week when I get sick. Good stuff.
I’m glad you’re feeling better! My husband’s cold lasted 3 weeks. Let’s just say we’re BOTH glad he’s finally feeling better. 😉
Did you get any snow? I hear Texas had a little bit. We’ve had our share. I’m ready for summer now, thankyouverymuch.
Kailana – Thank you. I am feeling much better but just wish my work would lighten up a bit. It’d be nice to not be rushing around all the time but oh well, that’s the way it goes sometimes.
Buried In Print – Oh believe me I wasn’t doing power yoga or anything like that! haha… I do a lot of restorative yoga which is so calming and relaxing. I feel like I’m there for a guided nap which is wonderful.
Stefanie – I’m getting there! Thank you!
Kathleen – In between napping I was zooming through quite a few books. So at least there is that! 🙂
Bookfool, aka Nancy – You are so right, reading romance is a great way to get a nice little break. I just did a little post on my romance reads by the way.
jenn aka the picky girl – One of these days I must try Airborne. I work in a healthcare setting so I’m actually surprised I didn’t get sick sooner. Of course it doesn’t help that we all seem to be passing the germs around!
Les in NE – Oh yesterday everyone was going on about the “snow” here. I think it was really hail but if that makes people happy to think that 😉 Sorry to hear your husband was under the weather too. It’s yucky being sick.
Glad you are feeling better and so good to see your post. I owe you an email. 🙂
Look forward to hearing about your recent book buying sprees and what has been added to your TBR pile.
