I’m so ready for the weekend. How about you? I don’t have any big plans but I certainly would like to get a lot of reading done. I have five books ongoing, which I’m enjoying, but I need to start a couple of other books for upcoming blog tours and book discussions. If I could just finish one book this weekend then I’d feel like I was getting ahead.
On top of that I just got an email notice that two library holds had come in and one is the latest Maisie Dobbs book. You know I’ll put all aside as soon as I get my hands on that one.
Anyway, I’ll get back to you and let you know which book(s) I ended up starting. How about you, planning to start any new books this weekend?
Have a Happy Weekend!

I hope to get some reading done today, as my folks are going to take my girls out for the day. We have had such a busy week as school has been closed a couple of days, so I really need to catch up on housework, but i am hoping for an hour to myself.
I have work this weekend. Augh. But, haha, I’ve been sneaking some Lorrie Moore under my desk, and looking forward to Miguel Syjuco waiting for me at him. And some Lydia Davis stories too. 🙂
Have a great weekend!
I’ve had a ton of reserves come in for me, and I’m finally caught up enough at work that I have the energy to read. I’m going to finish the Alexander McCall Smith I have started and then start Matrimony which is for book club in a couple of weeks.
I really doubt I will get much reading done, maybe with the exception of my audio book. Such is life. I take every minute I can get!
My only plans for this weekend is to read and do a little homework. I’ve just started a middle school book and a book of poetry for review. I’m hoping to finish both today. Have fun!
Have a great weekend. I am trying to finish a book this weekend, too, and hope to get in lots of reading time. Hope you enjoy the latest Maisie! 🙂
I’ve read a book a day, this week (all short ones — very satisfying) and just started The Queen of Palmyra. So far, so good. I hope you find something that grabs you, this weekend!
I hope to do some reading tomorrow (Sunday). I’ve not gotten much in today. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I’m reading Joe Hill’s Horns and zipped through a couple of hundred pages in the past day or two. It’s wonderfully creepy! I’m also reading a collection of poems by Wendell Berry. And listening to two audio books (one in my car and one on my iPod!). World Without End by Ken Follett is perfect for listening to. It’s a huge tome, but the time flies as I clean and workout! Traveling With Pomegranates (Sue Monk Kidd) is thought-provoking and one that I may wind up getting in the printed format for future reading. With all this good reading, I couldn’t resist three new books on the library shelf – La’s Orchestra Saves the World by Alexander McCall Smith, Forward From Here by Reeve Lindbergh, and Noah’s Compass by Anne Tyler. I may just stay in my pjs today and do nothing but read! Have a good Sunday!
vivienne – I hope you were able to get some time for yourself this weekend and could catch up on your reading!
Sasha – Ooh you rebel. I admit I did sneak in a book at my desk one time. It was a boring job so I needed something to do! 🙂
Melanie – How are you liking Matrimony? I was quite impressed with that one so I hope you enjoy it and the discussion!
Sandy – I hear you. I hope at least you had a happy Mother’s day with your kids! Did they get you some books?
Vasilly – I hope you finished your books and I’ll be looking forward to your poetry book review. I was kind of on a roll reading poetry last month and would like to find a new book to read.
Danielle – I got the book today but then I got kind of busy so I didn’t get a chance to check it out. I get the feeling this evening before going to sleep I’ll try to sneak in some pages of it!
Bookfool, aka Nancy – OMG. I’m jealous. That’s wonderful that you’ve been able to get so many books in this week. I did finish two over the weekend so I won’t complain. Hope you like the Queen book. I read a great review of it over at Melody’s blog.
Kathleen – I hope you got some reading done today! I haven’t done much today but yesterday was a great reading day for me.
Les in NE – Ooh, I cannot wait to read your review of Horns. I’m hoping it’ll be just as great or better than Heart-Shaped Box. Hope you had a wonderful Sunday with all those books!
