Ah, Friday. No bookstore date night tonight as we were both kind of tired and didn’t want to drive but I’m sure I’ll find myself visiting the bookstore sometime over the weekend. Tonight we are just going to hang out and I would love to stay up late reading.
Naida was sweet enough to pass on The Versatile Blogger award to me and that means I have to tell you seven things about me. You guys know all about me now right? Ok, here it goes:
1. When I was in high school I used to say I wanted to be an interpreter. Given that every job I’ve had I’ve been able to use my Spanish I guess in a small way I got part of my wish.
2. A current favorite music group is Camera Obscura. I love to listen to this when I’m crafting.
3. A new favorite yogurt I’ve recently discovered is Wallaby’s Down Under in dark chocolate. So delicious.
4. I have a bad habit of starting a lot of projects and not finishing them. I’ve been better about this in recent years but it is something that I still struggle with and try to change.
5. I’m not really a diamonds kind of girl. Of course they are beautiful but I prefer funky necklaces so I can switch them up all the time. I have quite a collection of heart necklaces. Hearts of silver, glass, plastic, you name it.
6. When I was a teen my favorite books were the Sweet Valley High books and the Sweet Dreams books. I’m surprised I don’t read romances now. Ha,ha.
7. I’ve never had a pet. I like cats but am very allergic to them. I’d love a dog (Lab or German Shepherd) but just wish they’d stay puppy size. Aren’t they cute when they are pups?
Now, the rule is to pass it on to 15 friends. I have been very lazy about passing awards but not this time. So here it goes to some of my bloggy friends: Melody, Sandy, Wisteria, Nymeth, Danielle, Stefanie, Jenclair, Andi, Eva, Kathleen, Anna, Serena, Isabel, Lesley, and Natalie. Ok, I’m ready for the next award so I can pass it to more friends.
But, I will pass on a hug to all of you and hope you have a fun weekend. More book talk soon.
Oh my!!!! Thank you, thank you, I’d like to thank my husband, my dog, my cat…! 🙂
And oh my goodness — I completely forgot about the Sweet Valley High books!! Ha — I read those all the time, too — I loved them!!
Thanks Iliana! I loved reading your 7 things, and we have #4 in common. 🙂 Here’s mine, but it’s hard coming up with new ones!
1) I prefer skirts & dresses to pants: they always feel more comfortably both physically and mentally to me.
2) When I was in middle/high school, I loved music: I sang soprano and played the violin and the clarinet. I don’t do anything organised anymore though.
3) I LOVE North Carolinian accents and wish that I had one.
4) I carry Burts Bees Pomegranate chapstick with me where ever I go: I feel naked without it!
5) If I could have an herb garden, I’d plant bushels of cilantro: I use it so much in my cooking! I know some people have a gene that makes them find it disgusting, but I love it.
6) I’m trying for about the 100th time to break my nail-biting habit. I’ve made it a couple weeks so far…I’m trying out different nail polishes, but I must be picky because I don’t like most of them. I’ve found one favourite though. 🙂
7) I used to dye my hair brown, and lately I’ve been really tempted to go back to being a brunette. The only thing holding me back is the damage to my hair!
Aw, thank you so much, Iliana! I haven’t done something like this in so long… I’m going to give my own seven things some thought.
Also, Camera Obscura are awesome and I can’t see what the fuss is all about with diamonds 😛
Thanks, Iliana! I share the feeling about diamonds, but I love cabochon gem stones because they look so medieval. Must think about 7 things a little longer…
You are so sweet! Thank you! I’m not a big diamonds person either. I have my wedding ring and that is about it. I’m sure our husbands appreciate that!
Natalie – You crack me up! Writing about those Sweet Valley High books makes me think about getting one and reading it now as an adult.
Eva – Love reading your list and we also wear the same chap stick! Do you missing playing and singing?
Nymeth – You are welcome! Aren’t CO great? They were here in town earlier this year and unfortunately I wasn’t able to go. I hope they’ll come back one day.
jenclair – Oh yes, stones that are more unique and stuff I like. I’m a big fan of other stones like citrine, moonstone, quartz…. Those I love.
Sandy – I don’t even have a wedding diamond. I do have a diamond heart necklace though that my dad gave me when I graduated from high school. That of course is super special to me but you are right, our husbands got lucky with us 🙂
Glad you like the award 🙂
I love any heart jewelry also. I had never heard of Camera Obscura.
Enjoy your weekend!
Congratulations on the award!!
You are too sweet! Thank you Iliana for passing this award to me.
I also wanted to be an interpreter when I was in high school. I had lived in Puerto Rico as a child and my Spanish was always pretty good. My dad said I wouldn’t make any money. This was in the, “girls were not supposed to work for a living” day. LOL
I am also not a diamond kind of girl..but I do love sapphires.
Thanks for the tip on the yogurt. I’ll have to look for it. I hope it is in my area.
Congrats on your award and thank you so much for passing it on to me, Iliana! I loved reading the seven things about you, and I can definitely relate to #6, especially those Sweet Dreams books! 😀
Congrats! I loved the Sweet Valley High books, too. And if the Anna you’re passing the award on to is me (can’t tell because the URL is incorrect), then thanks!
Congratulations!
Thanks very much Iliana for including me in your list! Sorry about my tardiness–am just now catching up on my blog reading, but it is most appreciated!
Thanks for the tag. I hope you’ll forgive me if I take a pass this time around. Life, ya know? Definitely going to have to try to find that yogurt, though. Sounds delicious!I love dark chocolate. 🙂
I’ve gotten an award…thank you! **bows**
I’ll have to post about this soon.
I would be distraught if I were allergic to animals. I think they have allergy shots for the cat thing these days…I could be wrong though.
