Hello and happy Sunday! I hope you’ve been enjoying your weekend so far and want to catch up a bit and join in on The Sunday Salon. Thank you to Deb at Readerbuzz for hosting the chat.
What I’m reading: Aside from the current reads I mentioned in my previous post, I’m also catching up with World Literature Today as I’m a couple of issues behind. Nowadays when so many magazines are ceasing publication it’s so great to have this wonderful literary magazine. If you’ve never read it, I highly recommend it.
What I’m recommending: If you need a bit of a push to get creative then I highly recommend you sign up for Danny’s Essays. Each Friday you get an essay on keeping up with motivation. Sometimes the hardest thing is just picking up the pen, paintbrush, etc. So whatever your creative journey may be, I think you’ll find this very motivational.
What I’m enjoying daily: I bought the 2023 Artist Almanac Calendar and love tearing off a sheet daily to see the beautiful imagery that awaits. I think it’s sold out now but there may be some artists who were involved in making this that are still carrying it. Oh and better yet, I can use some the sheets in my own journal spreads!
What I’m sipping:Â You know I love coffee but in winter I do enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon. Lately, I’ve really been enjoying this Caramel Vanilla Cuppa Cake tea. I just add a bit of milk and it feels like a treat. Now what I would like to find is good decaf tea. If you have a favorite you can recommend please let me know.
What is my quote for the week: “Each day provides its own gifts.” ~ Marcus Aurelius
And, now to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Haven’t heard of World Lit today but will try to look it up. Have a good week.

I wish I had more motivation to be creative. You’re right that starting is the hardest part.
I’ve just added Danny’s Essays to my weekly schedule. I have been planning to reread his book, Art Before Breakfast. Thank you so much for sharing the information about getting the weekly essay, Iliana.
My dad’s wife was having trouble sleeping, and the doctor recommended no caffeine after noon. So she has taken up drinking tea. Her favorite so far is a kind with chamomile.
Harvee – I hope you check it out. It’s really a great source for reviews especially if you like literature in translation and poetry. Have a great week!
AJ @ Read All the Things – The blank page can be so scary daunting right? I feel like I have lots of swirls of ideas but just need to sit and start.
Deb Nance @ Readerbuzz – I bet you will really enjoy his newsletter especially as you are doing the reading challenge on creativity! I’ve heard that no caffeine after 3pm is a good rule of thumb so I definitely need to switch to decaf. It’s been forever since I’ve had chamomile tea. Thank you for reminding me!
I’ve been drinking a lot of tea this past month. I’m trying to cut back on the wine consumption, so I now have a cup of tea during our evening “happy hour.” Rod’s been drinking more seltzer water and less beer, so it’s been easy to have a somewhat “dry January.” We’ll continue after the month ends, since I think we’re sleeping better. Our livers must be happy with us, too. 🙂 Most of my teas are herbal from Stash. I’m not very picky, but I do like the pomegranate, as well as ginger lemon. I found a good tea to have before bedtime and I swear I’m sleeping so much better! It’s by Twinings of London and it’s called Sleep+ Melatonin Camomile, Cinnamon, & Vanilla Flavoured Herbal Tea. Give it a try!
I have been drinking too much coffee but it comes with the cold weather, LOL. I hope you have a great week!
Danny’s Essays sounds like a nice feature and the caramel tea sounds delicious! Enjoy your week. 🙂
Caramel Vanilla Cuppa Cake tea sounds yummy! I’m not really a tea drinker, but I might like something like that now and then. I hope you enjoy your weekend, Iliana!
