Hope you all had a great weekend. I indulged in naps and probably too many sweets but I’d had a couple of stressful days last week and have to say that really helped. I’m also trying to keep up with a workout schedule so not all is bad.
Anyway, I wanted to share a couple of things that arrived in my mailbox last week. The first is the latest issue of Taproot Magazine. Isn’t that cover just so cozy? This is such a neat magazine with inspiration for your crafts, baking and other arts and domestic pursuits. I don’t do any baking or cooking but I’ll make sure to pass along the recipes to my husband. Haha…
My other is a book I’ve heard a lot about from a couple of Spanish speaking booktubers. Salvar el Fuego by Guillermo Arriaga won the Premio Alfaguara for best novel of 2020. I was excited about this book but little did I realize just how chunky this book is coming in at 659 pages. Can I just tell you that it took me three weeks to finish a novella of 168 pages recently? I have my work cut out for me with this one and I think I may just save it for my first book of the year.
Thinking about the next couple of weeks, I’d really like to do some quick write ups of books I’ve finished, tell you about some books on my radar, do my best of lists and talk about some other things I’ve been meaning to share. I’m also starting to think about reading challenges for 2021, some personal bookish goals, etc.
That’s about it for now friends. Hope you are all staying healthy and have a great start to the week!
So, I’d like to say that it’s a little cold this morning and it was too windy yesterday. Ha! I think half of West Texas is here now after those gusts. Bet the cedar count is up today. I hate that aspect of the winter season. Hope this week goes well for you, Iliana, and no more stressful days. Take care!
We all need naps sometimes. Stressful weeks call for an easy weekend to help balance things out. Hope this week is going well for you!
The Taproot magazine does look and sound good. I don’t think I’ve ever read one. Will see if I can check it out.
Hope this week has been better for you! I’ve been going through couple of hectic weeks and definitely need some downtime.
I really wanted to take a nap yesterday, and nearly did, but there was always something keeping me up. I am sorry to hear things have been so stressful for you. It’s been that kind of year, hasn’t it? I hope you have a good week. ll
