The last few days I’ve been getting over a cold and you would think that meant a lot of reading as I rested but all I wanted to do was watch tv and look through magazines but now that I’m feeling better and I’m back to the books.
I’m close to the end of The Lie by Petra Hammesfahr and I really liked this book at the beginning but I feel like the intensity has sort of leveled off and now I ready for the last page. Granted this could have been that I broke away from reading it when I got sick. I guess it won’t be until I finish it that I really know how I feel about this book so I’ll keep you posted.
Last night I started reading Doctor Glas by Hjalmar Söderberg For the upcoming Slaves of Golconda discussion and although I’m only about 10 pages into the book, I really like it. Doctor Glas is going to be an interesting character I think.
Anyway it’s almost the weekend and I’m really looking forward to it. No big plans or anything but just enjoying my books and probably a stop at the bookstore. I hope you all enjoy your weekend pursuits!
I’ve got a cold too! I am very much looking forward to a relaxing weekend filled with reading Doctor Glas! I hope you feel better soon!
Sorry to hear you’ve had the crud! Once it takes hold it’s really a drag.Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Hope you’re feeling better! I just finished Doctor Glas–he is indeed an ineresting character! I read about half of The Lie, but somewhere along the way I lost the thread–I don’t know if it was the translation or what but I just wanted it to move forward and it sort of stuck! I do want to finish it, but now so much time has passed….
I hope that you are better. The weather is changing so much in the past few weeks, that it’s a miracle that I haven’t caught a cold either.
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I had that awful norovirus and was down for over a week and didn’t feel like reading a thing. What a bummer this cold and flu season is!
Stefanie – I hope you are feeling much better and got a chance to read more of Doctor Glas! Luckily I’m finally done with the cold!
Andi – It sure does, doesn’t it? Who’s got time for that!
Danielle – I was pretty sure I remembered you mentioning The Lie. I finished it but it was kind of hard getting to the end. I think it just got very bogged down with details of the scam.
Isabel – So glad to hear you’ve avoided getting sick so far. Stay healthy girl. I owe you an email.
Kathleen – Oh my goodness! I’ve heard that’s pretty bad. Isn’t it terrible that when we are sick you’d think we’d be all over books but sometimes even that’s too much. Glad to hear you are doing well now!
