I was very excited when I got my hold notification from the library last week because guess what was waiting for me? The latest Maisie Dobbs adventure! Of course when I stopped by to pick that up I looked around a bit and got a couple of other books. So here is my stack:
In this Grave Hour by Jacqueline Winspear. This book takes up a year after the last Maisie book and now Maisie is back in England at the time when Britain has just declared war on Germany.
Interference by Amelie Antoine. A young married couple’s picture-perfect life is destroyed when Chloe drowns. Her husband tries to rebuild his life but will he be able to move on?
No Matter the Wreckage by Sarah Kay. This collection are poems honoring family, love, travel and unlikely romance between inanimate objects.
I really want to start In This Grave Hour tonight but I probably should start my mystery book group read, The Dry, which I am looking forward to as well. Oh decisions, decisions…. Let’s see which one I go for this weekend.
What about you, what are you up to this weekend? Whether you are reading and relaxing or running around I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Your title made me think of pancakes and now I am really hungry! Have fun reading Maisie this weekend!
Oh, Lucky you! I started reading the newest Maisie as an egalley but then didn’t finish before it was released and they pull access to it once it is out, which is HUGELY annoying. So I am way back in line for a copy at the library. Since I have read more than half I sort of didn’t want to buy it in hardcover…. can’t wait to get back to it though!
Those books sound good to me! Hope you’ve a fun time reading them all and I look forward to your thoughts on them. 🙂
Although I liked the first books in the Maisie series best, I will be in line for this new one! I’m reading Val Diarmid’s Out of Bounds right now, and it is as good as I hoped. 🙂
It’s hard to resist finding other books to bring home when you are surrounded by them! Did you decide to read your book group book or go with In This Grave Hour? I hope you enjoy your reading, Iliana! Have a great rest of the weekend.
