I’m finally getting around to doing a meme I was tagged on by Gentle Reader and Adrienne. This is a quick one and perfect as I’ve started a new book. I know, I should finish the books I already have in progress but I got an Advance Review Copy fo Ann Brashares latest novel, The Last Summer (of You & Me) and I couldn’t resist.
This is an easy meme: “You simply have to grab the book nearest to you (no cheating here), turn to page 161, and post the text of the fifth full sentence on the page along with the body of the instruction on your blog. Then you tag 3 people.â€
“He’d planned to leave for New York on Monday afternoon.”
I’ve seen this meme make the rounds so I’m not sure who hasn’t been tagged already. If you haven’t done it then now’s your chance and consider yourself tagged.
It’s time to start enjoying the weekend!
been a-lurkin’ and love your blog! (esp that artwork)
anyway, i tagged myself. 🙂
Thanks for playing! Are you enjoying the Ann Brashares?
Aloi – Thank you for doing the meme! I’m so glad you stopped in and I’ll be visiting your blog 🙂
Gentle Reader – Well, I know it’s supposed to be her adult novel but it still feels like she’s writing a YA novel. The characters who are in their early 20s sound much younger. It’s definitely an easy read so I may finish it this weekend.
That sounds like a great summer read!
The book closest to me (and I’m almost done with it) is Field of Fire by James O. Born. Since I’m on a group writers blog and I don’t post until Wednesday, I’ll post the sentence here:
“He had sweated out meeting her father, waited through five months of celibacy until she was ready to lose her virginity and done all the right things after.”
Danielle – It would be the perfect summer read as it’s light and even set in a beach community!
Karen Olson – Oh that is a great sentence and makes me want to find out more. Thanks for playing 🙂
