Happy Sunday everyone! I guess we all made it through the 24 HR read-a-thon right? I had such a great time participating even though my hours read is actually a very small number – 5! That’s right, just five hours out of the 24. I really thought I’d read more but that’s okay.
What I didn’t expect was to do as much blog hopping throughout the day but it was addicting to see how the readers were doing. I also want to send a big thank you to all the cheerleaders who kept us motivated. All of this also means that I’ve “met” a lot of other book bloggers – yippee!
Dewey, many thanks for hosting a such a wonderful event. I’m looking forward to the next one.
So, now what to do today? I think my husband and I are going out to catch this film, do a bit of shopping at Whole Foods and as there’s a Barnes & Noble next to Whole Foods, well, we may just have to pop in for a bit.
It truly was fun, wasn’t it?
Sounds like you had fun. I couldn’t have even read for five hours yesterday. Enjoy your Sunday.
Congratulations on completing the marathon, Iliana! Enjoy your day at the movies.
A movie, Whole Foods and book browsing sounds so nice today! I hope you have good time. Thanks for participating in the readathon.
I miss the Angelika! *sob* And the Magnolia. Might have to swing by both of those when I’m in TX for Christmas. And I’m DEFINITELY going to Half-Price.
I’m glad you had a good time with the challenge even though you didn’t read as long as you thought you would.
Say hi to all those bookstores for me.
Hello congrats on your readathon experience. Estella’s Revenge would really like to include a feature on the Readathon featuring readers expereinces in a sort of diary form. Would you mind if I used some of your Readathon post in this feature? I would include your name and probably a link to the blog in the post (as long as the editors have time to link it up).
Also anyone else reading this who participated I’d love to include some of your experiences from the day as well – e-mail me at the above address.
Ooops realised that doesn’t show up – little_green_aliens_99atyahoodotcom
Hey – 5 hours is a lot more than I read yesterday! You did a great job! Enjoy the movie.
I didn’t participate, but it WAS fun reading everyone’s updates. I can’t fathom 24 hours of reading, so I didn’t even try, but maybe next year I’ll join in for a few hours.
Sounds like a great weekend plan!
I’m reading pretty much all day, doing laundry and patting the dog. 🙂
Congrats on partipating in the read-a-thon! This was so much fun. 🙂
Debi – It was great fun. I’m ready for round 2 – ha,ha.
BookGal – It was hard to get in that many hours actually but it was well worth it.
Literary Feline – Thank you. We had a good time at the movies!
Dewey – That is the perfect way to spend a sunday don’t you think. Too fun.
Andi – And, don’t forget The Inwood. Love that place! 🙂
aka Nik – I said hi to B&N for you 🙂
Jodie – Thank you and feel free to use some of my post on that. What a great ER feature!
Alisia – Well I think you had a good excuse for not participating as a reader 🙂
Dorothy W – I know, it’s crazy isn’t it? I actually did think I was going to read more but once I noticed how everyone was updating, well it was almost hard to stick with the books. ha,ha.
Matt – I probably should have done some laundry myself but ah well there’s tomorrow. Hope you had a super day too!
Eva – You too. You did great!
I would love 5 hours to read! Sounds like it was a great time for everyone.
Ok, I read but read stuff online. Didn’t get near a book this weekend, except for the newspapers and my Mac. Oh and some laudry. What a life! I really need to quit my addiction to my laptop on weekends and get back to books!!!
Good for you to get in 5 hours!! We did interrupt for an hour but we were glad to catch up with you! What movie did you end up seeing?
Aren’t you glad to be at home on such a rainy day today?!
I think you did great.
Nancy – It was great. You should see, some of the readers though read 10+ hours. Wow.
Kisane – I know what you mean. I do try to stay away from the computer on the weekends but sometimes you just can’t help it.
Christine – I was so happy to see you guys! We saw “Michael Clayton” – it was ok. I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if I hadn’t expected more of an action film. Not sure why I expected that but I did so I found it a bit slow.
LK – Thank you! And, I even read two short horror stories!!
It sounds like a really fun reading day. I didn’t participate, which is just as well, as I only managed about 45 minutes reading on Saturday! What a cool looking movie theater–I love going to movies, but I never seem to go anymore–it sounds like a fun evening!
Danielle – That’s one of my favorite movie theaters. It actually makes me feel like I’m going some place special plus they show all the foreign and indie films!
