No, sorry I don’t set up friends, but I can give you some advice. If you are still trying to figure out what to write in your Valentine’s Day card then just pick up Passionate Love Letters by Michelle Lovric.
I bought this book a couple of years ago and love to look through it every so often. I like how there are actual envelopes to be opened that include letters you can pull out to read. There are quotes, biographical bits on the writers and some gorgeous artwork.
The book is separated in categories of letters of Longing, Beguiled, Nostalgic, Penitent, etc. Each chapter has letters (or excerpts) from noteworthy historical figures. There are letters from Isadora Duncan to Gordon Craig, from Napoleon to Josephine, from Virginia Woolf to Vita Sackville-West and so on.
The power of letters is an amazing thing. Don’t believe me? Well, have I told you that my husband and I started off as pen pals? Yep, it’s true. So go off and write a letter to a loved one.
