I’m late to post but I couldn’t pass up joining Paris in July. How I wish we could be traveling to Paris but that’s not something I can do right now so thank goodness for stories that take us to other places, right?
Paris in July is a reading event that has been around for years and this year’s event is hosted by Tamara at Thyme for Tea and Deb at Readerbuzz. The month-long reading event encourages readers to celebrate Paris through books, film, music, cuisine, etc. I’ve participated the last couple of years and didn’t want to miss out.
I’ve actually already started one book, Lean on Me, by Serge Joncour, translated by Jane Aitken & Louise Rogers Lalaurie. This book was a prize-winning bestseller in France and it’s the story of two lonely people who come together in Paris. I’m really enjoying this book and the descriptions of the busy city very much.
I don’t know how many books I can get to but what I would like is to read books that were originally published in French. Let’s see how I do.
How about you, are you also joining in and reading some books set in Paris?
I’m always grateful for books that take me to faraway places…and especially for any book that’ll take me to Paris! Can’t wait to see what lovely Paris books you find to read this year. 🙂
Lark – Me too! Right now I wouldn’t mind being faraway in a cool place. It’s so hot in Texas. Hope you are doing great!
Don’t think I’ll be travelling for some time so I’ll just indulge myself in books and immerse in the experiences through the authors’ writing. 🙂
I’m participating, but I started and quit on my first two. 🙁 I’ve got a memoir going on my Nook and a historical novel on audio, so hopefully those two will be winners.
Oh, I didn’t realize you were back from the blogging hiatus! Hope things are looking better for you and your family, and great to have you back! Paris in July sounds lovely, I’ll have to check my own TBR if I have anything there.
