Tagged

I finally cleaned and organized my crafty table this weekend and even played a bit making some tags. I know some people like to make these tags for scrapbooking or for gift bags. I actually like to make these and using them as bookmarks. They are kind of perfect for that don’t you think?

My tags didn’t come out exactly like I wanted them and I think it’s because I was using glossy cardstock but it was still fun to use some of my new rubber stamps. I cleaned up after crafting so I’m ready for the next project.

And speaking of tags, Stephanie and Josette both tagged me on the Blogging Tips Meme that’s been making the rounds. So here it goes:

-Start Copy-

When this is passed on to you, copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those that you like. Add the next number (1. 2. 3. 4. 5., etc.) and write your own blogging tip for other bloggers. Try to make your tip general. After that, tag 10 other people. Link love some friends!

Just think- if 10 people start this, the 10 people pass it onto another 10 people, you have 100 links already!

9. Visit all the bloggers that leave comments for you – it’s nice to know who is reading!** –http://stephaniesbooks.blogspot.com/

10. Make a blogger template unique: change the background colour, or add a background picture to your header.* http://chris-book-a-rama.blogspot.com/

11. Ensure font size of words is not too small and colour of words don’t drown in background.* – http://booksloveme.blogspot.com/

12. Participate in Memes. It’s fun to find the eight things that are odd about you or the four things you enjoy doing besides blogging. You get the idea. http://www.bookgirl.net.

I’m actually not going to tag anyone. I know, I’m breaking meme protocol but I think a lot of people have done this one already. I know I’m enjoying the answers.

Falling Behind

Actually, I have finished two books but just haven’t had a chance to do a little write up on them. I’ll post on those soon though because they really were very enjoyable reads. Don’t want to be in suspense? Well, it was A Fatal Grace and Playing with the Moon. I promise, more on those soon.

Still I’ve fallen very behind on my book group reads and my challenge reads. I haven’t even started The Armchair Traveler challenge! So this weekend I hope to get ahead in some books.

Here’s my reading stack for the weekend:

Let’s hope I don’t get too distracted by other books. Have a happy weekend.

Relaxing

I’ve had a pretty hectic week at work but tonight was yoga night and it was exactly what I needed. So good and relaxing. After class I just came home and not wanting to break that spell of relaxation, I started reading some poetry. I need to remember to do this more often.
Here is one of the poems I especially enjoyed this evening.

Selecting A Reader
by Ted Kooser

First, I would have her be beautiful,
and walking carefully up on my poetry
at the loneliest moment of an afternoon,
her hair still damp at the neck
from washing it. She should be wearing
a raincoat, an old one, dirty
from not having money enough for the cleaners.
She will take out her glasses, and there
in the bookstore, she will thumb
over my poems, then put the book back
up on its shelf. She will say to herself,
“For that kind of money, I can get
my raincoat cleaned.” And she will.

Poem is from the Poetry 180 collection.
