Read-A-Thon: Hour 7

Really, we into the 7th hour? Wow… Well, I’ve been taking a lot of breaks and actually just got back from lunch. I had some very yummy migas. Also noticed, that it’s absolutely beautiful outside. Darn, this whole week was a bit dreary which would have been perfect for just sitting around and reading. Oh well, I guess I’ll open the windows and let the sunshine spill in.

So here’s the progress so far:

Title of book(s) read since last update: Funeral Music by Morag Joss & The Best Place to Be by Lesley Dormen.
Number of books read since you started: 2 (I finished both my books!)
Pages read since last update: 130 pages
Running total of pages read since you started: 233 pages
Amount of time spent reading since last update: 2 hours
Running total of time spent reading since you started: 3 1/2 hours
Mini-challenges completed: 0 (I’m about to do one right now)
Other participants you’ve visited: Valentina & Chris who were Readers of the Hour 5 and a few others.
Prize you’ve won: 0

Here’s my “Quote from your book” mini-challenge hosted by Meryl.

“How had this happened? My plan had been to meet middle age with exquisite dignity and chic restraint. As usual, I had veered off course. I was headed in the Dame Edna direction.” from The Best Place to Be.

Ok, now back to reading.

The Read-A-Thon Begins

24hrreading1-thumb.jpgGood morning everyone – ready for the Read-A-Thon? I’m still kind of in sleep mode but I’ve got a big cup of hazelnut coffee ready and I’m going to take over my husband’s chair (he’ll be out biking anyway) so I think I’m ready to start.

Last year I think I only read about five or six hours of the entire Read-A-Thon. I’m not sure how this year will go but hopefully I’ll get in quite a good deal of reading.

To start off with, I’m going to finish The Best Place to Be by Lesley Dormen. I’ve enjoyed this novel so far and am close to the end. The other book I started this week, which was not one I had planned to start but you know how that goes, is Funeral Music by Morag Joss. I love the setting – Bath.

I’ll try to update a couple of times throughout the Read-A-Thon and of course when I take some breaks I’ll stop by with other participants and check in on you guys. Enjoy everyone and let’s read a lot!
