I know yesterday I said I need to focus on my current reads but that’s hard to do when there are so many new books and all the lists for favorites of the year are coming out. Have you been keeping up with those lists? Today I spent a good amount of time browsing through NPR’s Book Concierge and of course I want to read a lot of those books now!
As usual I will have my favorites of the year but I tend to do a wrap up post pretty much at the end of December so stay tuned for that one.
In the meantime, I wanted to tell you about some of the new books I’ve added to my Kindle thanks to ARCs from NetGalley:
The Loving Husband by Christobel Kent. I have been a fan of some of this authors previous books so I’m excited about this one. This is a thriller about a murdered husband who turns out has a shadowy past.
Almost Missed You by Jessica Strawser. This one is about a perfect couple who go on vacation with their small child and of course before you know it, the wife is facing a nightmare. Family secrets abound in this thriller.
Our Short History by Lauren Grodstein. Story about parenthood, sacrifice and life itself. From more info I read about this one, it sounds pretty sad.
The Map That Leads to You by J.P. Monninger. A romantic novel that takes place in the tender time of a young woman’s life: Heather has graduated from college and is traveling around Europe with her two best friends.
Really excited about these but first to finish some books. Have you heard about any of these and what about you, have you received some new books lately?
I have not read anything by Christobel Kent, but The Loving Husband sounds interesting.
I’ve had trouble with my Kindle, but now it is working again, and I have a couple of books lined up. Right now I’m reading a Jo Nesbo novel–so damn dark. I like him, but boy, the novels never lighten up. In addition to the NetGalley books I just downloaded, I have a nice haul of library books. I’m set for a while. 🙂
Enjoy your new books! I have been ignoring Netgalley because I have so many books!
I admit I haven’t been keeping up with the favorite lists. I am barely online to look these days. 🙁 I have added a few new books to my Kindle too though. 🙂 It’s hard to resist, isn’t it? Enjoy your new books!
New books seem to find me without me going actively looking for them 🙂 I hope all your new ones turn out good!
I keep telling myself I should read the books from my shelves but it’s hard with so many shiny new books out there! Enjoy your books! 🙂
I have read (and liked) Christobel Kent before but I am not familiar with the book you mention here. This is a reminder that I need to get back to her Italian crime series!
