Yesterday I made a mention of being busy with paper play and now I can tell you why. I’m off to Journalfest! I get to spend three full days making journals and filling journals up with words, images and all sorts of randomness. I cannot wait.
I get to take classes with artists and bookbinders whose work I’ve admired for years, I get to see a wonderful friend, and I hope to make more new friends.
I haven’t had a chance to take a crafty class in a while and my soul really needs this. So I am sorry I’ve been a bit absent from the blogosphere but I’ve been busy preparing for Journalfest. I hope to have lots of stories and pictures to share and of course I’ll tell you all about the new creations.
Have a wonderful rest of the week, read lots of good stuff and see you back on Monday!
This sounds like a wonderful, crafty thing to do. I’ve always wished I was more artistic but the best I can do is copy other peoples ideas. I did scrapbook for several years and some of my pages weren’t too bad. I’m sure I would feel intimidated at Journalfest but I hope you have a ball. Can’t wait to hear about it and see some of your projects.
Enjoy yourselves! Talk to u later 🙂
Have fun, Iliana! 🙂
We want to hear about it when you come back. Take lots of pictures!
Enjoy! That sounds like fun.
Wow, this is so cool! Will you share journaling tips and prompts with us too? I’d love that.
I bought a new journal a while ago from Venice and I’m being very good and not starting it until I finish my other journals. That and I’m saving it up as my “deployment journal”.
I can’t wait to see what you bring back with you!
I am very envious. I live right here and have yet to take a class with Teesha but it is on my someday list. Have a great time and show us lots of pictures when you return.
Cool! Have a great time! I can hardly wait to hear all about it and see what beautiful things you create 🙂
Have fun Iliana!!
Have a great time at Journalfest!
Sounds like a wonderful, creative retreat. Enjoy every moment and look forward to hearing all about it when you return.
Whoo-hoo, this sounds fantastic! Have a great time and I’m looking forward to your pictures and stories when you get back.
Oh I am so envious. I know Port Townsend and Fort Warden very well. I use to go to “Quilting by the Sound” 4 years in a row. I miss it. Best place to beach comb, find treasures, take pictures of the madrona trees, walk in the park and shop. Don’t forget to go to the bookshop: Phoenix Rising. It is a specialized metaphysical bookstore. Lots of great yoga and new age music and interesting books. There is also a secondhand store called Fancy Feathers in the basement of a regular fancy fantastic clothing store. It is on the same “Water Street” as the boostore and main road in downtown Port Towsend. WHat fun! You will have so much things to put in your journals. Yeah!!!! Do not miss visiting the bunkers… Maybe you have been there already and know all about it already. Sorry about that if it is the case.
Have a good trip.
Have a wonderful time, Iliana!

This sounds wonderful. I am extremely jealous:)
Congratulations that sounds wonderful and I’m sure you’ll make beautiful stuff (using ephemera I hope). Sometimes your creative mind really needs a big, concentration on the fun, crafty side of life.
Have a wonderful time!
