While I was out running errands today I stopped by at Half Price Books because Sandy has recently been giving me lots of suggestions on new mysteries to try. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any of the books I was looking for, but I found out that next weekend HPB has a big sale so I didn’t linger around too long and will be back then and with a big bag. heh.
It was still a day of books though because when I got the mail today I had two books that Les sent me. The Travelling Hornplayer by Barbara Trapido and The Musician’s Daughter by Susanne Dunlap. They both sound wonderful and wasn’t that totally sweet of Les?
What else? Oh yes, I have a few of links for you to check out. For those of you who are fans of Gabriel GarcÃa Márquez did you see the recent Borzoi Reader? A new biography of the master of magical realism is out this month and you can check the sneak preview as well as 25 intriguing facts about GGM.
For those of you who enjoyed my review of The Last Queen by C.W. Gortner and are interested in the book, stop by Serena’s blog for a chance to win a copy!
Now for those of you who collect bookmarks, isn’t this liquid bookmark cool? I could totally see myself using the red one for one of my whodunit books.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I’ve got lots of housework and other random chores to take care of this weekend but reading will get done somehow.
Those bookmarks are cool! A bit pricey for a bookmark, but still cool.
I LOVE the bloody one. Like Anna said, not sure I’d pay $24 for one, but it would definitely cause some turned heads! I sure hope you can find some of those books you’re looking for. Just put them on your list, and they’ll show up eventually!
The liquid bookmark is cool, but a bit scary (I might think I’ve spilled something on my book)!
I like the liquid bookmark but I’m a colour freak and I want more colours 🙂
Have a great weekend!
I am LOVING those bookmarks! I will have to remember those at Christmas when family start asking what I want!
Those bookmarks are great. Too bad they cost so much. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for the heads-up about the new GGM biog! It’s going on my wishlist…
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could do without the housework and random chores on the weekend? LOL. Have a good one!
Those two books sound wonderful to me – anything with music or musicians in the title immediately piques my interest!
Those bookmarks are so fun!
Oooh, I didn’t know about the new biography. Thanks for the link! And lol, those bookmarks are awesome. I hope you’re having a great weekend!
Those bookmarks are cool! I’m sure the red ones will catch anyone’s attention!!! LOL.
