Are you looking forward to some new releases this month? I have received several ARCs that I’m excited about. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the copies.
At the End of Every Day by Arianna Reiche. A loyal employee at a collapsing theme park questions the death of a celebrity visitor, the arrival of strange new guests, her boyfriend’s erratic behavior, and ultimately her own sanity. On sale 7/4/23.
A Cryptic Clue by Victoria Gilbert. The fountain pen on the cover caught my attention but with a retired librarian and book collector as the central character this sounds delightful. On sale 7/11/23.
A Real Somebody by Deny Collier. Another cover that caught my attention. A novel set in Montreal, 1947 about a young woman who joins the steno pool in a prestigious advertising firm, hoping to make her dreams come true. On sale 7/11/23.
One of the Boys by Jayne Cowie. A thriller with a thought-provoking premise. If you could test your son for a gene that predicts violence would you? On sale 7/18/23.
Mrs. Plansky’s Revenge by Spencer Quinn. Mrs. Loretta Plansky, a recent widow in her seventies, is settling into retirement in Florida while dealing with her 98-year-old father and fielding requests for money from her family. One night Mrs. Plansky is startled awake by a phone call from a voice claiming to be her grandson Will, who desperately needs ten thousand dollars to get out of a jam. On sale 7/28/23.
Kala by Colin Walsh. In the seaside town of Kinlough, on Ireland’s west coast, three old friends are thrown together for the first time in years. They were part of an original group of six inseparable teenagers in the summer of 2003, with reckless Kala Lanann as their group’s white-hot center. Soon after that summer’s peak, Kala disappeared without a trace. On sale 7/25/23.
Let me know if you’ve got any of these on your radar or which books you are most excited about this month.
I’m really looking forward to Linda Castillo’s newest book, and I still need to read Mihalik’s Capture the Sun which came out last month. And A Cryptic Clue does sound like a fun read. 😀
They all sound good! Hope you enjoy reading them all! 🙂
Enjoy these! They all look good and At the End of Every Day especially caught my eye.
Mrs. Plansky’s Revenge is a book I’m hoping to read. I have a 96-year-old father and I unexpectedly discovered I had a young adult granddaughter a couple of years ago. A Cryptic Clue sounds promising, too.
I hope you are doing well, Iliana.
Did you get a copy of Kala via Netgalley? I need to see if I can get one. This debut interests me, it sounds like a slow-burn mystery plot set in Ireland, yay. And thanks for letting me know about the Canadian novel A Real Somebody, which could be interesting. I have enjoyed visiting Montreal in the past. Enjoy your reads!
