New Releases for August

Thanks to  Netgalley and the publishers, I have some new ARCs of books out this month. Let’s take a look!

The Lookback Window by Kyle Dillon Hertz. This looks like a powerful story about a young man who struggles to survive after years of abuse. On sale 8/1/23.

The Déjà Glitch by Holly James. To break out of a 24-hour time loop, all Jack needs is for Gemma to fall in love with him in a single day. All Gemma needs is to remember him first. Sounds like a delightful romcom. On sale 8/1/23.

A Council of Dolls by Mona Susan Power. A novel that spans three generations shining a light on the echoing damage wrought by Indian boarding schools, and the historical massacres of Indigenous people. On sale 8/8/23.

A Killer in the Family by Gytha Lodge. A woman uploads her DNA online, searching for her father—but the man who contacts her is Detective Chief Inspector Jonah Sheens. The detective tells her that she’s a close match to a serial killer. On sale 8/8/23.

Holler, Child by LaToya Watkins. A short story collection exploring themes of community, home, betrayal, and forgiveness. I don’t read too many short story collections but I’ve heard good things about this author and am excited to check this out. On sale 8/29/23.

We Were Young by Niamh Campbell. Approaching forty and still single, Cormac, a photographer, suddenly finds himself ‘the leftover man’. Soon he’ll embark on a a new relationship and learn to deal with difficult family issues. On sale 8/29/23.

I love that there’s a book for every mood. Let me know if any of these books sound good to you or if you’ve already heard about them.
