I’m not sure what happened this March but it was not a good reading month. I only read two books and didn’t make any progress in my reading challenges. What did I do all month? Probably read too many magazines!
In case you are wondering, I read two mysteries. Ghost Medicine by Aimee and David Thurlo and Mortal Arts by Anna Lee Huber. I really enjoyed Mortal Arts and as soon as I finished it I wanted to read another historical mystery so I picked up And Only to Deceive by Tasha Alexander. A great choice as I’m really enjoying it.
But now it’s a new month and lots to look forward to. First off, April is National Poetry Month. I try to read poetry year-round but it’s always nice to have a little reminder to incorporate more poetry in my life. This month along with trying to read more poetry we are planning to go to the Austin Poetry Slam Finals! I’m so excited about that. It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to a poetry reading and I think this one will definitely be entertaining.
What about you, what are you going to do to celebrate National Poetry Month? If you need some suggestions take a look at 30 ways to celebrate! Don’t forget to sign up for poem-a-day too. Today’s poem was Disillusion by Langston Hughes.
So what are your big reading plans for this month? I’m almost done with two books so I’m excited about that. Hope you have a super weekend and more book talk soon.
I can’t believe it is already April! Have fun at the Poetry Slam Finals–a great way to celebrate National Poetry Month.
I hope you have a great reading month in April!
I didn’t have a great March in reading either – I think I read 2 or 3 books. But hopefully, April will be good for both of us! Enjoy the poetry reading – poetry is a challenge genre for me but I always want to read and appreciate more of it.
Didn’t March fly by? You’ll have to be sure to tell about the poetry slam!
