I mentioned in my last post that I’ve been busy bookbinding for some upcoming shows and unfortunately one of those has fallen through for me and now I’m not sure if I’ll be able to participate in the big show because it falls very close to our vacation.
If I didn’t work full-time this wouldn’t be an issue but I’m just concerned that so close to our trip I’d be struggling with getting everything in order (home and work) and being in a show. A craft show is a lot of fun but it is so much work. I still have time to think about applying for the big show but for now I guess it’s time to do some thinking about what to do with my bookbinding.
One good way to look at all of this is that now I have more free time for reading and catching up with my blog reading. I’m so behind! Also, I need to find a new blog reader service as Google reader is going away. Any good suggestions?
So, what am I reading? The Unseen by Katherine Webb. When I first started reading this book I thought it was so similar to The Dark Lantern by Gerri Brightwell. The beginning had me thinking it was the same book. Unfortunately I started the Brightwell book several months ago and couldn’t get into it but The Unseen has really captured my attention so I’m sticking with it.
In the meantime, I’m so ready for the weekend. I have a B&N coupon which will come in handy when we stop in for our date night this weekend and other than that, I guess I have quite some free time this weekend so I’m excited about the possibilities.
Wishing you all a great weekend!
You always have the best vacations. Going to Germany again?
I just finished a really good Irish crime thriller called The Rage…very gritty and compelling and easy to read. I know you like crime thrillers. I’ve got a B&N coupon too, I just have to figure out what I NEED! haha
You are busy! I love B&N coupons. Have a great weekend!
I decided to use Feedly in place of Google Reader. So far I like it just as much!
Enjoy that B&N coupon!
Sorry to hear about the show falling through. I can definitely see why you wouldn’t want to take on the challenge of a show so close to your holiday and with work on top of that.
I am glad to hear that you have more time to read and enjoy other things!
I use Bloglovin for my blog feed and I also have it on my phone and really like it.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
So nice to hear from you on my blog, thanks for visiting! I never cared much for Google Reader, but I am very pleased with Feedly (and even Blog Lovin’ seems friendly enough). I think you’ll be pleased that Google retired their Reader when you try one of those.
There’s just not enough time to fit in all the things you (me, too) want to do, is there?! Exciting to think, however, of an upcoming vacation. Will you be going to Germany again? And I have the Unseen on my wishlist of books to read–so glad to hear you are enjoying it!
Sandy – Yes, we are off to Germany again. It’s not for a while yet but I’m ready 🙂 — have you done your review of The Rage yet? Want to hear more about that!
Stefanie – I feel like I hardly ever get them that when I do I can’t let one pass up you know!
Andi – I’ve signed up for Feedly. Still trying to figure it out but I think I’ll like it!
Christine – Thanks Chica. It was a bummer especially because I heard of other friends getting in but that’s the way it goes sometimes. I’ll continue to work on my bookbinding and hopefully I’ll be totally ready for the holiday shows 🙂
Bellezza – Unfortunately I’ve been so out of touch with all my blog friends but I’m trying to slowly get back into the book blog world. I’ve missed it tons!
Danielle – Totally! And, yes, we’ll be going back to Germany and adding a little side adventure as well so I’m excited. I’ll tell you guys more about that soon!
