Ok, I think I have to ban myself from the library. My TBR stacks are growing as I keep accepting ARCs and buying new books. Last year I banned myself from the library for a few months and I missed it but I managed to read a lot of my shelfsitters so I think I have to do this again.
I’m not sure how long my library ban will last but I’m going to try and not check out books for the summer months. I still have a couple out but that’s it. Let’s see if I can hold off. Wish me luck.
Anyway, I’ve got to tell you about the new books that have arrived this week. Lots of very cool stuff that I’m really excited about.
- Finny by Justin Kramon. Finny Short is an impish fourteen-year-old, whose sly sense of humor can’t hide the fact that she simply doesn’t belong. This sounds like a quirky and fun coming of age story. Just what I like.
- Still Missing by Chevy Stevens. Annie O’Sullivan is a thirty-two-year-old realton who was kidnapped and held captive for a year. This looks like it’ll be a great thriller for the summer.
- The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller. Everyone has experienced deja vu. And love at first sight? Most of us believe it’s possible. Maybe it’s happened to you already — or maybe it’s about to. Ooh, doesn’t that sound mysterious?
- The Summer of Skinny Dipping by Amanda Howells. A YA novel about breaking-up, peer-pressure and the boy-next-door. Sounds like a perfect read for the summer.
So this weekend I’m planning to hang out with friends, go for more bike rides, and of course read. What about you? What are you doing?
Have a wonderful weekend you guys and more bookish talk soon.
I haven’t been to the library for a long, long time! With my ever-growing piles and the fact that I’d prefer to read books at my own pace nowadays, I hate to admit that I don’t really miss library books, but just that I love the atmosphere and would love to visit one day for looking at those books. 😛
Those books sound great! Hope you have a great weekend!
I’ve banned myself from the library and accepting review copies. There’s certainly no shortage of reading material in my house…and it’s been that way since way before I started blogging.
I’m looking forward to your thoughts on Still Missing. I have that one, too.
There are so many good books, and never enough time to read them all. The TBR stack just gets bigger and bigger. I’m pretty sure I’m going to drown in mine.
Hope you have a great weekend. As for me, I’m just hoping I have the time to write a little bit.
Melody – I love the atmosphere in the library too but I noticed that this year I’ve read a lot more books from the library than mine so then that makes me think why am I buying books?! 🙂 So I really want and need to get back to mine. Have a great weekend!
Anna – I also go through periods of banning myself from review copies. Lately though so many new books are coming out that I want 🙂 We’ll have to compare notes on Still Missing. Doesn’t it sound creepy!
Cassandra Jade – I know, it’s like we need to stop time so we can get to our books right? Hope you find time for writing this weekend!
I need a library ban too! It seems like my library books always get priority. I am going to my parent’s lake house this weekend though so hopefully I get a lot of reading done.
I am trying to ban myself from the library as well. Maybe we should form a support group. I try so hard no to put things on hold, and then when I do I tell myself I’ll cancel the hold or let it expire (I always cancel if other people are waiting), but somehow…I cannot resist going to pick up the books when they become available. I have so many books sitting around here, it’s just inexcusable. *shakes head*
I totally understand your problem; I suffer from the same problem 🙂
They really sound great. Happy reading to you!
I really want to read Still Missing.
I’m guilty of bringing too many books into the house too. It doesn’t matter that I’m culling the bookshelves. I already have plenty of books I need to read. I hope you were able to fit in some reading time this weekend, Iliana!
Hope youre having a nice weekend Iliana 🙂 I know what you mean, every time I go to the library, I take out way too many books!
Happy reading, The Summer of Skinny Dipping sounds like the perfect summer read.
I’m also trying to limit my library borrowing this summer and have pretty much sworn off accepting any new AREs for a while, too. I still have More than Enough to read, though. Enjoy your new books!
