I hope you are all doing well. If you are in the U.S. then Happy 4th of July! I was lucky to have half of the day off yesterday and a day off today. That meant extra time for reading and visiting some bookstores. I did make one small purchase and got a pristine used copy of Father by Elizabeth von Arnim. I love this British Library Women Writers Series edition.
However I realized I never told you about all the other books I got last month. I bought a lot but I also got a lot of review copies. Here are the copies for review:
Two intriguing murder mysteries from Soho Crime A Disappearance in Fiji by Nilima Rao and The Sunset Years of Agnes Sharp by Leonie Swann.
The Murder of Anton Livius by Hansjörg Schneider. This is a crime series set in Basel, Switzerland.
Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan. Summer romance.
Three books from Europa Editions, Barbara Isn’t Dying by Alina Bronsky (I’ve read a couple of her books and throughly enjoyed them), The Art of Binding People by Paolo Milone (a memoir) and The House on Via Gemito by Domenico Starnone.
Ashes by Anthony Mancini. I hadn’t heard about this imprint before but looks like they bring back some out of print books. (Quick edit to note that Ashes is an original title).
Beware the Woman by Megan Abbott. A thriller I’ve been hearing a lot about lately.
Let me know if you’ve heard of any of these or have put some of these on your summer reading list. Have a wonderful week ahead!
Yay for days off from work! Especially when there are lots of good books to buy and read. 😀
All three books from Europa Editions look great! I’ll look forward to hearing what you think of them.
I’ve Beware the Woman in my TBR pile. Megan Abbott is one of my favourite authors so I’m definitely looking forward to reading her latest release.
