September is at an end and it’s time for my month in review. I have several books I’m still in the middle of that I’ll be carrying into October but here’s what I finished in September.
I read After You by Jojo Moyes, which I just reviewed. This was perhaps the most disappointing of the bunch. I also read A Killing Spring by Gail Bowen which was a mystery set in Canada. I really liked this one but wish I had read the first books in the series as I did feel just a bit out of the loop.
My other two books though were fantastic reads. I absolutely loved Perfect Days by Raphael Montes. Not only that but this book also counts for both my R.I.P. Challenge and Books In Translation challenge. Yay, progress.
And, just last night I finished Gabi, A Girl In Pieces by Isabel Quintero. I loved this book so much. I’ll try to do a quick write about it soon but trust me, this is one to add to your reading list.
Things to look forward to in October? Well, hopefully more spooky reads for the R.I.P. Challenge. And, of course to finish my current reads which I’ll tell you about soon.
Hope you have a great weekend and I’d love to hear what you are looking forward to in October. Any reading goals?
Sounds like a good month overall. I didn’t read many books in September… Germinal took longer than I expected, but was well worth it. For October I’m looking forward to Amsterdam by Ian McEwan, Ann Patchett’s new novel, and something for RIP. Have a great weekend 🙂
I’m carrying a few books that I’m currently reading into October as well. It happens though 🙂 It sounds like you did have a solid month of reading in September. I love the sound of Perfect Days. I’m going to have to check that one out!!
My only goal for October is to make a dent in all the books I neglected all summer!! September was a bit better. Hopefully October will be, too!
Sounds like you’d a great reading month, Iliana! And I can’t wait for your thoughts of Gabi, A Girl In Pieces. 🙂
I, too, look forward to your thoughts of Gabi, A Girl in Pieces. September saw a good number of books tossed onto the metaphorical DNF pile, but I did get a number of good books read. October? We will see what turns up. 🙂
I like Jojo Moyes, I need to make time to read her more. Where did September go?
I only finished 3 books in September, so I’m hoping for more time to read this month. Cooler weather and curling up on the couch while my husband teaches a night class twice a week may just be the ticket! Sorry to hear After You was a disappointment. I’ve held of reading it since I’m afraid it won’t live up to Me Before You. None of her other books have, so I’m not surprised this one is getting mediocre reviews.
A nice month it seems! My only goal for October is to get through all the library holds that are of course coming in all at once!
Yay! So glad that you liked Gabi! I do need to review it too but it was such an excellent read that I am still in a hangover. I need something like it.
