I know some of you have been posting how your reading has gone so far and that’s made me take a look at my reading too. I’ve read 47 books, mainly fiction and mysteries. I believe nine of these have been translations which is good.
I still have hopes of adding more classics and non-fiction to my reading as those are sadly missing from the bunch of books read. I’ve also been good about reading from my stacks in the past month although I’ve just put a couple of books on hold at the library so my attempt to make it through the summer with no library books my be short-lived.
So no complaints with my reading. I have read some great books and have only had a couple of DNF books. I’ll tell you more about my current reads in my next post but for now I’ll just leave you with a glimpse of where you could have found me this afternoon.
*Notice the mug on the shelf. Yummy coffee to go with my books. Hope you spent a great weekend reading and I look forward to catching up with your posts.
You’re doing well with your reading, Iliana! Last time I checked, I’ve only read 38 books.
And oh, I love your reading corner! 🙂
Yes, I did notice that mug! THat looks like a comfy chair and the perfect place to do some serious reading. Good job so far!
I love your reading corner–it looks so nice and light and airy! I think I am at about 42 books at the moment–I should look at see what I’ve been reading so far. I know I want to try and read a few more American authors and more classics during the rest of the year. I know I’ve set several aside, but I don’t keep count of those (better not maybe?!). And since I’ve not been buying books I’ve been especially bad about borrowing them. Oh well–at least I’m not spending money. 🙂
Love you reading area….really love the chair and leg rest. Where did you find them??
That looks like a nice little reading nook 🙂
47 books is great!
Hope you got in some great reading time this weekend. I managed to do pretty well, and still go out for a bit.
You’re doing great so far! I hope you’re able to squeeze in some non-ficton and classics. Since you have The Imposter’s Daughter on your chair, it counts for non-fiction! 😉
First time I’ve seen someone else stack their books horizontally instead of vertically. I too do this, it makes much more room. I do like how you’ve done a bit of both. I also do that.
Well done on your reading so far. I need to stay away from the library too and read my own books.
Oh, I wish I could have sat there next to you…I have a very similar mug, but mine is filled with green tea enhanced with lemon. Although, normally I’m most definitely a coffee girl. Forty-seven books is great! I never can understand how some people are all, “Well, I’ve only read 268 books this year…” I also admire you for having some you didn’t finish. I’m way too compulsive for that, and must finish every thing I start. Wait. Every book I start. 😉
What a great half year completed!! Yes, I love the mug and I did notice it before you pointed it out. It does look yummy and a perfect way to read and relax. 🙂
Melody – I was able to read quite a bit when I was having more down time earlier in the year. Now that I’m so busy with projects, work, etc. I think my reading is dropping off a bit. Must find more hours in the day! 🙂
Sandy- The chair used to be my husband’s but it didn’t fit in his office so I told him it was perfect in my studio. Love it 🙂
Danielle – I think the only downside is that I have all my bookshelves next to me so other books are always vying for my attention 🙂 I think I need to get on a book budget but ah well, I’ve cut back on shoes so I think book buys are ok. haha…
Jennifer – Ikea! They have other colors for the covers. I actually like the read one a lot but as this wasn’t my chair in the first place I guess I can’t complain. haha.. It was my husband’s and he liked black best.
bookworm – I love it 🙂
diane – I’m amazed at all I was able to accomplish actually. Yoga, journaling, reading.I guess my house though does look a bit of a mess but oh well 🙂
Vasilly – I know right! I know it’s a graphic novel but I guess it counts as both.
Kristy – I love the way they look sort of mixed up. And, I agree, I think I can get in more books that way.
vivienne – I’ve been visiting the library a lot more this year so I really want to focus more on my books. Let’s see how much longer I can hold out on!
Bellezza – I’m starting to like green tea but I’m so silly, I only like tea in the winter! I know what you mean, I just want to know how they can read so many! I just want to find out their secret 🙂
Wisteria Leigh – I had to save room on my shelf for the mug. It’s the perfect way to enjoy books right 🙂
Your reading space looks like heaven–I love it!
What a lovely reading nook! No wonder you’ve read so many books so far this year 🙂
Looks like a wonderful reading spot!
Stephanie – I love it. I finally have a nice spot to read!
Stefanie – Ha,ha.. Actually if I’m honest a lot of my reading is done in bed.
Kathleen – I like it. I just need to work on the lighting in the evening. I would prefer that my chair was by the window but that’s where my crafty table is and I definitely prefer natural light when I’m working on crafts.
What a great spot! I love that chair. The fabric is gorgeous!
You’ve done very well so far this year. I’ve just finished #33 and have two more that I will be wrapping up in the coming days. I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to catch-up on my blog-hopping. It’s been ages since I’ve “seen” you! Sorry for being absent so long. 🙁
You’ve had a great year so far. Your reading spot looks so cozy. 🙂
