Can you believe we are already at the end of June? I wanted to see where my reading has taken me so far this year and so I opened up my spreadsheet to take a peek at what I’ve been reading this year.
Mysteries and general fiction with one YA book. I’ve read a couple of books in translation and on the whole I’ve read quite a few great reads. So far no DNFs so that’s a very good thing.
I’ve also tried to maintain a good mix of books from shelves, the library and ARCs.
Overall, I’m very happy with my reading this year. I wonder what books I’ll find the rest of the year. Isn’t that exciting? Is my favorite book of the year still waiting to be discovered? Will I find a new favorite author? Oh I can’t wait!
How about you, how is your reading year going so far?
I have a spreadsheet I keep, too! I’ll have to go and check it out. I know I have not read many classics, which I hope to rectify this latter half of the year. I am certainly making up for any lack of mystery reading! I have strayed far from the list of books I made last December, though, and still hope to read more from it….
Mostly fiction, heavy on mysteries. I’ve read more in the last 2 months than I could have imagined. A lot of mine are NetGalley and reviews are scheduled through Oct., even though most have been read this month.
Several DNF and some that should have been, but some really good books have made up for the ones that are DNF. Just finished Craig Johnson’s latest Walt Longmire, The Serpent’s Tooth. Love me my Wyoming sheriff!
That is great that you are feeling like you are on track and happy with your reading. Mine has been better the past few months and I am happy about that. Traveling helped because it gave me time without day to day distractions. I do need to pick up the pace and read on a regular basis instead of spurts. A goal for the second half of the year.
Danielle – Ha,ha… I used to keep a journal but it’s just easier on a spreadsheet as I keep them organized by year. So do you have a classic in mind you want to read?
jenclair – That’s usually me too! Love me some mysteries. I’ve read one of the Longmire books and one fo these days I would like to check another one.
Christine – I know, travel is great to get some reading done. Especially on planes & trains! Do you have a book you are reading now?
It sounds like you are having a good reading year so far. 🙂 I am pleased with my reading this year. I have had a couple DNF’s but I’m okay with that. Just glad I didn’t feel the need to slog through books I wasn’t enjoying. I do wish I had more time to read, but isn’t that always the way? Here’s to a great second half of the year and our books!
Literary Feline – I am! And, I hear you, I don’t want to spend so much time on something that is just not capturing my attention. Too many other books waiting! Hope we both find more time to read 🙂
