As I’ve recently started a new book it’s pretty safe to look back on this month and count up the books read – six. Not too bad and definitely better than February when I only finished two books. I still can’t believe that.
Anyway, March has been mainly a fiction and mystery month as I read three of each. Typically I like to have a bit more variety in my reading but I read two very wonderful books so I’m focusing on that. My two wonderful reads were Someone At A Distance by Dorothy Whipple and One Day by David Nicholls. Reviews of both to come.
Looking forward to April, I plan to get in some poetry as it’s National Poetry Month, maybe get a jump on my Once Upon a Time challenge reading, and pick up some of the wonderful ARCs that have arrived. I’ll share some of the new titles with you soon.
How about you? Got some reading plans coming up?
I’m glad to hear your March reading is better than the last, Iliana. 🙂 Six used to be my average amount of books read; these days I’m just glad to be able to finish four, lol.
Looking forward to your reviews.
I hope you enjoy your Poetry month. I am not good with poems, but I love to see others enjoy them.
I’m happy you enjoyed Someone at a Distance. Hope to read it soon.
Six books is fantastic! I’ve read four. This year. 😉 Thinking I need to look into David Nicholls!
Can you believe it is April tomorrow already? I’ll be doing some poetry reading and not sure what else. It all depends on school.
Six books sounds good to me! National Poetry Month always seems to sneak up and catch me off-guard. I can’t believe it’s almost April! Where does the time go??? No big reading plans for me. I’ve got a lot of March ARCs I didn’t get to, so I guess I’m going to be off by a month, for a while.
Melody – I’m typically anywhere between 4-6 books. Wish I could read more and faster but then there’s also other things in life too right? 🙂
vivienne – Well, I love to read poetry but I admit I don’t typically read a whole poetry book at once. I like to pick a poem here and there. It makes it easier somehow to take it all in.
(Diane)BibliophileBytheSea – It was so good! I hope you’ll love it. I’ve heard some others say it’s not even their favorite Whipple book. I can’t wait to read more.
Trish – Well, you’ve got your hands full 🙂 Definitely try Nicholls. I thought the book was so easy to get into and filled with characters/problems that are easy to relate to.
Stefanie – I know, what has happened to the first three months of the year! Time needs to slow down. Hope you find some free time in between school and work!
Bookfool, aka Nancy – I love getting ARCs but am so behind on reviews and reading it’s not even funny. I want to read them all but again, where can I get more time!
I’m in on the poetry for National Poetry Month and the Once Upon a Time challenge (and all the ARCs and books in stacks). All we need is more time!
My reading has been driven by work commitments lately. I’ve been trying to alternate these obligations with a “free choice” book, which seems to be a good solution. Not to say that I don’t enjoy the books I read for work events, I like to be able to CHOOSE also 🙂
March was a slow reading month for me with five books finished, including one that was very, very short. But I’m about to finish another two, so April will be better, hopefully! I’m hoping to finish the Shirley Hazzard book tonight.
My plan is to not have any plans, since the last time I wrote what I was going to try and read I didn’t read the books! Very bad. I’m glad you got a chance to read Dorothy Whipple–I hope you liked her! I just want to finish the Hazzard book, too, and hopefully a few more books than I have been reading/finishing lately!
I’m hoping to get some Once Upon a Time reads finished in April as well. You definitely had a better reading month than me…I only finished 3 books all month. I’ve got my fingers crossed that April turns out to be a better reading month for me.
