I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I cannot believe I totally forgot that Dewey’s Read-a-thon was this weekend. I’ve seen some of you post about what a fun time you had. Next time I must mark it in red on the calendar.
I’m so behind on everything lately so I’ll just apologize in advance. I know I owe emails, blog visits, answering comments on my blog, etc. But I’ve been just a bit busy over here trying to get ready for the craft show I’m participating in and of course everything else that goes on with life.
We did have a very fun time this weekend celebrating my husband’s birthday. He received a gift card to BookPeople and super guy that he is, he even shared some of it with me! Isn’t that sweet? I got two books, The Black Minutes by MartÃn Solares and A Novel Bookstore by Laurence Cossé. I hadn’t heard anything about these books before but they definitely looked intriguing and I’m excited to add these to my library.
The other goodie I have to rave about is this. Look what we made over the weekend:
Buttons! We got a buttonmaker so yes, more crafty goodness is in store for me. We used some of my husband’s calligraphy for these buttons. I can’t wait to come up with some fun stuff.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing great. I will go ahead and say that the next few weeks my postings might be a bit more unpredictable but I will try to keep up as much as I can.
Looks like you had a wonderful weekend, Iliana!
Ooh, those buttons are lovely!!
aww, that is so good of your Hubby to share and I have not heard of those books myself… hope read your reviews on them. And those buttons are just so good!
We had a hectic weekend.
Those buttons are really cool! How nice of your husband to share his giftcard with you!
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Those buttons look cool. Can’t wait to see what other creative designs you come up with!
Your husband is so generous sharing his present with you. And the buttons are awesome!
What a great way to display his talent!
Tell Mr. BookGirl Happy B-Day for me.
Are you making journals for the craft fair?
Will it take place in November?
I wish I had an ounce of creativity to be able to participate in a craft show!! I’m a wee bit jealous!
The buttons are lovely!
I’m glad you had a fun weekend. Those buttons look cool!

Had no idea that something like a buttonmaker existed – how cool! I look forward to seeing your creations! 😉
