Did I tell you about the recent book purchases I got? I don’t think I did. I’m still organizing my shelves and I was adding these new additions when it dawned on me that I hadn’t mentioned them. Well, here are the goodies I got last week:
- Dead of the Day by Karen E. Olson. This is the third in the Annie Seymour series. This time the intrepid reporter might be facing off with the police chief.
- Shadow Man by Cody McFadyen. I think I first heard about this book via Les and have had it on my list for a while. It sounds like a fast-paced thriller.
- Too Darn Hot by Sandra Scoppettone. I loved the first Faye Quick book — just read it last month. So I had to get the second and find out what investigating Faye gets up to next.
- Funeral Music by Morag Joss. This is one of those series I’ve had on my radar for a while. I may have to substitute this one as one of my reads for the First in a Series challenge.
So that’s my little bounty of books. I think I need to stay away from the library from now until the end of the year. That’s not a real goal but I’m going to try and stick to my books and maybe make some headway in all those TBR stacks.
Oh, and don’t forget you still have time to enter the Sweetsmoke Giveaway!

I’m really interested in the Morag Joss — loved Half-Broken Things, it was a real gem, but I couldn’t even finish Puccini’s Ghosts. This one sounds quite different again…and I love the Roman baths in bath!
Funeral Music sounds good. Just what I need, to start another series! I already have several firsts in series here that I need to get to.
I was good and only got a couple books in September, I think it’s time to treat myself again!
I need to make some headway in the tbr stacks too…but getting new books is just so much fun. I hope you enjoy your new acquisitions, Iliana!
LOL, you sound like me. It’s just a *little* box of booooks. 😉
jenclair – I’ve heard some mixed reactions on her books too but I wanted to read this one because of Bath! 🙂 I hope it’s good!
tanabata – I know, I have so many other first in a series books. I can’t help it… I just love finding a new detective/sleuth to follow and if it’s a good one it’s so good to know you can keep following their adventures!
Nymeth – What’s a few new books to those already leaning stacks right? 🙂
Andi – Ha,ha.. Well, my other reason for getting books is because my husband will order one graphic design book which is usually expensive so I figure I can order a couple and even things out you know 🙂
I started that Morag Joss book. It got set aside–not because it wasn’t good–I just got distracted (you know how that goes?!). I am in the mood to read one of her books, though. Don’t you just love those little boxes of books!
Danielle – I’ve done that with so many books. Good thing is that I eventually do get back to them… This year in particular I’ve gone back to two books I couldn’t get into and they may be some of my favorite reads! Go figure 🙂
