I’ve run across some great stuff lately and have to share.
- Via Kimbooktu I saw The Book Inscpritions Project. Isn’t that neat? I never write in books that I give away but this sort of makes me want to start doing this. Do you do this? I do love finding a book with a nice inscription though. Perhaps next time I visit Half Price Books I’ll find a good one.
- I’m a fan of All Things Girl and always look forward to their latest issue, but this time even more so because they published one of Christine’s pictures. Go check it out here. Isn’t it wonderful?
- NPR had Nancy Pearl’s latest Under the Radar books. I’ve heard of a couple but the one I’m really interested in is Confessions of a Teen Sleuth by Chelsea Cain. Doesn’t it sound fun? I so wanted to be a sleuth when I was in elementary school and was reading countless Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew books.
- On a more serious note, I received an ARC of Not On Our Watch by Don Cheadle & John Prendergast. I do look forward to reading it even if I know it’s not going to be an easy read. Check out their Enough Project to learn how to raise awareness, promote peace, lobby government, anything to help end atrocities.
I’m “this” close to finishing my second book in the Once Upon a Time Challenge. I hope I can tell you about it tomorrow.

Great links, Iliana! Thanks!
I always write in books that I give as gifts. And I insist that people write in books they give to me. 🙂 Even if I have to hunt them down later with the book and pen! I love pulling a book off my shelf, and seeing a note from someone I love there.
Loved all things girl! Thanks for the link!
BlueRectangle Books
Thanks for all the links.
I put my new info in. I have moved!
i’m very hit or miss with inscriptions. I try to do it especially when I’m giving a book for a special occasion, ie. graduation. I don’t like being put on the spot for an inscription though. It always seems I end up writing something really dumb then and I’m stuck with the knowledge that anyone who picks up that book will forever see my inablity to string words together. ick.
Some very interesting links to go explore. Thanks for the recognition as well! I now need to put my things together for the photo competitions…:)
Yeah, I heard that NPR report on “Confessions” and it caught my attention… definately one to read in the future… I am taken for the rest of the year with my own list.
Jenclair – Hope you find some good stuff 🙂
Eva – Do you really? That’s cool! I have just a few books with inscriptions.
Sylvia – Glad you liked that one. It’s been a favorite of mine for a long time.
Nancy – I just visited your new blog home. Lovely!
Patricia – Ha,ha… That’s probably my fear of writing an inscription too.
Christine – Yay! Fingers crossed that more photos will be published.
JCR – Do you have a list for the rest of the year? Wow, I don’t think I could do that. My mind wanders too much 🙂
Wow, thanks for the links! I love the inscriptions. Maybe I should photograph a couple of the inscriptions in my own books. I didn’t realize how fun they are to look at. It feels like eavesdropping, peeping inside a book and seeing it inscribed to someone else.
Thanks for the links! The inscriptions site is addictive and I love finding something like that in a book I have purchased. Sometimes I feel badly, particularly for the newer books that the gifted has let the book go so soon.
Thanks for the links–all interesting! I love the book inscriptions project. Do you ever visit PostSecret? The book inscriptions site lists PostSecret under “friends of the project”, and the two sites look very similar. PostSecret often makes me cry…
What great links. Love the book inscription project. I don’t generally inscribe books but the project makes me think I should.
Nancy – Oh you should. I’d love to see those. Yes, itis a bit like eavesdropping isn’t it. I like that 🙂
Tara – Isn’t that true. Especially when the inscription is so heartfelt. You wonder why would they let go of the book. Maybe it was a mistake or etc. Wow, that could be a story in itself!
Gentle Reader – It is like PostSecret isn’t it. I love that site. Have you seen the books? They are so neat.
Stefanie – Me too. And, I do really feel like next time that’s what I’ll be looking for in a used book. How crazy is that.
I’ve only seen the PostSecret books on the website, never actually in a bookstore–but I’ll have to check them out. And I agree with Stefanie, the book inscription project makes me want to inscribe books–something I’ve never done before…
